Tim Conway walked into what was meant to be a harmless, forgettable sketch. The premise was simple: a man washing windows on a shaky scaffold. No big punchlines, no elaborate setup, just a visual gag designed to fill a few minutes of airtime before moving on to the next laugh.
At first, everything seemed under control. Conway stepped onto the platform, the scaffold wobbled slightly, and the audience chuckled politely. It was familiar territory — physical comedy done a hundred times before, safe and predictable.
