5 Ways to Vote for Your Favorite American Idol Contestants in Season 24

American Idol Season 24 now gives fans five practical ways to vote if you count each social platform separately: the official voting website, SMS text, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. ABC’s support page says voting is available on the official vote site, by text, and by commenting on the pinned official voting posts on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok when voting is open.

The first way is the official website. Go to the show’s voting page on a supported browser, sign in or create the required account, choose your contestant, assign your votes, and save them before the voting window closes. ABC’s official instructions confirm online voting through the official vote page.

The second way is by text message. During the voting window, each contestant is assigned a number, and you send that number to 21523. ABC’s official help page and current coverage both identify SMS voting as an active method, with 21523 used for the texts.

The third way is Facebook. When voting opens, go to the official American Idol Facebook page, find the pinned official voting post for that night, and comment with the contestant’s name. Current reporting says one comment counts as one vote on the official social voting posts.

The fourth way is Instagram. The process is similar: open the official American Idol Instagram account, locate the pinned official voting post, and comment the contestant’s name there while voting is open. ABC’s official help page includes Instagram among the approved social platforms.

The fifth way is TikTok. Fans can also go to the official American Idol TikTok page, open the pinned official voting post, and comment the contestant’s name to cast votes during the window. ABC’s official support and current coverage both list TikTok as part of this season’s social voting setup.

As for limits, current coverage says fans can vote up to 10 times per method. That means you can spread support across all available methods instead of relying on just one.

Timing matters a lot. Current coverage says voting for this stage began on March 16 and opens after the East Coast broadcast, at about 10 p.m. ET, then stays open until 6 a.m. ET the next morning. Because that can shift by episode, checking the official vote page and the pinned official posts each night is the safest move.

The simplest strategy is this: watch the episode live, note your contestant’s number if you want to text, then vote on the website and on each official social post before the window closes. On social, keep it clean and direct by using one contestant name per comment, since current reporting says one comment equals one vote.

So the full five-way breakdown is: website, text, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Officially, ABC groups these into three main voting channels—online, SMS, and social voting—but for fans using each platform individually, there are five distinct places to cast support for a favorite contestant.
