After months of emotional performances, shocking eliminations, and nonstop fan voting, American Idol Season 24 is finally preparing for its biggest night of the year.
Finalists Hannah Harper, Jordan McCullough, and Keyla Richardson will officially take the stage one final time as America votes live to decide who becomes the next American Idol champion.
The highly anticipated live finale airs Monday, May 11, 2026, beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on ABC.
Fans can also stream the finale live through services that carry ABC, including Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, FuboTV, and DIRECTV Stream depending on regional availability. Episodes are also expected to become available afterward on Hulu for viewers unable to watch live.
This year’s finale is expected to run for a full three hours, making it one of the biggest finale broadcasts the franchise has delivered in recent seasons.
Alongside the final contestant performances, viewers can expect a massive lineup of celebrity guests, emotional duets, returning contestants, and special collaborations throughout the night.
The finale will feature live performances from judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie.
Major guest performers are also scheduled to appear, including Brad Paisley, Lee Ann Womack, Clay Aiken, Tori Kelly, Jason Mraz, Nelly, Shinedown, En Vogue, Mötley Crüe, Blues Traveler, and Cameron Whitcomb.
Fans are especially excited for the celebrity duet pairings involving the finalists.
Hannah Harper is set to perform with Lee Ann Womack in a moment many country fans are already calling “perfect.” Jordan McCullough will share the stage with Tori Kelly after his emotional reaction to the duet reveal went viral online. Meanwhile, Keyla Richardson is expected to deliver another major emotional performance after weeks of momentum surrounding her powerful vocals and viral song moments.
Several eliminated contestants from Season 24 will also return for the finale, including Braden Rumfelt, Lucas Leon, Rae Boyd, Brooks Rosser, Kyndal Inskeep, Philmon Lee, and more.
Live voting will once again play a major role during the finale itself.
Fans are expected to vote through the official American Idol website, text voting, and social voting methods during the live broadcast window. Viewers are already being urged to prepare early because voting periods during live finales are typically very short and highly competitive.
As finale night approaches, social media predictions remain extremely divided between Hannah Harper, Jordan McCullough, and Keyla Richardson, with many fans calling this one of the closest American Idol finales in years.
And with emotional performances, celebrity surprises, returning contestants, and America’s final vote all happening live, viewers are already preparing for one unforgettable night before the next American Idol winner is finally revealed.
