Bailee Ann is speaking out after her surprise appearance with Jelly Roll drew both praise and criticism online, all while her family is already facing public attention over his reported divorce from Bunnie XO.
The 18-year-old joined her father onstage at Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids, Michigan, during Jelly Roll’s June 13 stop on The Little Ass Shed Tour. The venue listed the show for 7 p.m. with Kashus Culpepper as special guest.
Fans were surprised when Bailee walked out during the concert and embraced her father in front of the crowd. The moment quickly became emotional for many people watching, especially because of the headlines surrounding Jelly Roll’s personal life.
Bailee and Jelly Roll performed a cover of Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life),” and the father-daughter moment spread across social media soon afterward. They later returned together for “Wild Ones,” Jelly Roll’s collaboration with Jessie Murph.

Many fans praised the appearance and said the performance showed a sweet bond between Jelly Roll and his daughter. But as the videos traveled online, some users began criticizing Bailee’s vocals during the Green Day cover.
Bailee responded on TikTok after seeing the negative comments. She admitted the song was not the strongest fit for her voice, but made it clear that she still enjoyed the experience and was not going to let the criticism take away from the moment.
She later added more context through TikTok Stories, explaining that she had been traveling for hours before the performance. According to reports, she said she had spent 17 hours flying and another four hours driving before stepping onstage.

Bailee also said she performed without vocal warmups and that the song was outside her usual range. Her message came across as both honest and firm, acknowledging the performance was not perfect while defending the joy of sharing the stage with her dad.
The criticism arrived at a difficult time for the family. Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, reportedly filed for divorce from Bunnie XO, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, in Williamson County, Tennessee, on May 18 after nearly 10 years of marriage.
Reports say the couple listed irreconcilable differences, with the split coming after years of public ups and downs. Jelly Roll and Bunnie met in 2015, secretly married in Las Vegas in 2016, and renewed their vows in 2023.
Since the divorce news broke, fans have been looking back at possible signs of trouble. Page Six reported that some fans noticed Jelly Roll had appeared without his wedding ring, or with it moved to another finger, in posts dating back months before the filing became public.

Bunnie also drew attention for cryptic social media posts around the time of the filing, including messages about intuition and getting her “sparkle back.” The posts have since been viewed by some fans as possible hints that change was happening privately.
People reported that a source described Jelly Roll and Bunnie’s relationship as having a “complicated dynamic,” while also saying the split appeared connected to personal growth and different visions for the future rather than a simple public conflict.
Bailee has now made it clear that she is frustrated by strangers becoming overly invested in her family’s private life. Her message to critics was sharp, direct, and centered on one point: her family is going through something personal, and she does not owe the internet a detailed explanation.
For now, Bailee seems focused on protecting her peace while standing by her father during a difficult chapter. Her stage appearance may have started as a surprise concert moment, but the response afterward turned it into something bigger: a young woman drawing a boundary while her family’s private pain plays out in public.
