Ferryn and Brinkley Wright have become one of the standout duos of “The Voice” Season 30, but their journey to the famous red chairs started years before viewers saw them on the show. The sisters from Sevierville, Tennessee, grew up singing together and eventually became full-time performers at Dollywood.
Ferryn, 20, and Brinkley, 18, have spent years developing the close sister harmonies that became the centerpiece of their Blind Audition. Brinkley was still 17 when their audition was filmed.
Their East Tennessee roots also give them an interesting connection to Dolly Parton. Both sisters have performed multiple times at Dollywood and have also performed at Parton’s hotels.
Earlier this year, the sisters received another special opportunity when they were selected to walk ahead of the car carrying Parton during a Dollywood parade. They later described the experience as an opportunity of a lifetime.
But “The Voice” isn’t their first experience with a major television singing competition. Ferryn and Brinkley previously auditioned for Season 23 of “American Idol” in 2025.
There was one major difference: “American Idol” didn’t allow them to compete as a duo, so Ferryn and Brinkley had to audition separately. Despite being separated for the competition, both sisters earned Golden Tickets and advanced to Hollywood. Their auditions, however, never aired on television.
That made their opportunity on “The Voice” particularly meaningful. This time, the sisters could walk onto the stage together and show the Coaches the sound they had spent years developing as a duo.
They chose Linda Ronstadt’s “When Will I Be Loved” for their Blind Audition, and the decision paid off spectacularly. Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah, Adam Levine and Riley Green all turned their chairs.
The performance made Ferryn and Brinkley the first four-chair turn of Season 30, leaving them with every Coach available when it came time to choose a team.
Kelly had an especially interesting argument because she previously coached sibling trio Girl Named Tom, who ultimately won Season 21. Riley, meanwhile, connected strongly with Ferryn and Brinkley’s country roots and praised their “old school” country sound.
In the end, the sisters decided that Riley was the Coach they wanted and officially joined Team Riley Green. Their story had gone from separately earning Golden Tickets on “American Idol” to standing together while all four “Voice” Coaches fought for them.
Ferryn and Brinkley are also beginning to establish themselves outside television competitions. The singer-songwriters released their debut single, “Wrong Girl,” earlier this year. Now, after years at Dollywood, two “American Idol” Golden Tickets and their first original music, the sisters finally have the chance to chase a national competition together—and their four-chair turn suggests they made the most of that opportunity.
