The Voice Season 30 has sparked a wave of reactions after Florida singer Sophia Liano was eliminated following her powerful Battle Round performance against 16-year-old Mia Knight.
The two Team Queen Latifah contestants delivered an impressive rendition of “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman, showcasing their vocal abilities in one of the competition’s most demanding songs.
Their performance immediately caught the coaches’ attention, with Kelly Clarkson jumping out of her chair as the singers delivered their powerful vocals.
Riley Green was equally astonished, praising Sophia’s beautiful vocal tone and Mia’s remarkable range. Adam Levine also expressed admiration for the contestants’ impressive abilities.
Despite their outstanding performance, Queen Latifah faced the difficult task of selecting only one singer to advance to the next stage.
The coach ultimately chose Mia Knight, explaining that the 16-year-old had continued improving throughout rehearsals and demonstrated the confidence needed to move forward.
However, the decision quickly attracted criticism from viewers who believed Sophia deserved another opportunity in the competition.
Some fans described Sophia as “robbed,” arguing that her distinctive voice and impressive performance should have earned her a place in the next round.
Others questioned why another coach had not stepped in to save her, particularly after the enthusiastic reactions the duet received.
Amid the disappointment, Sophia shared her first public message following the televised Battle, expressing gratitude rather than frustration over the result.
She thanked The Voice and Queen Latifah for the opportunity and encouraged supporters to continue following her music and future journey.
Her positive response drew attention as viewers continued praising her talent. Fellow contestant Kayleigh Mathews also celebrated the duet, describing the performance as incredibly impressive.
Although Sophia Liano’s journey on The Voice has ended, her memorable performance and gracious response have left a lasting impression. With fans continuing to support her after the controversial elimination, the Florida singer’s musical journey appears to be entering a new chapter.
