The Voice Season 30 Introduces Major Cut Week Twist as 15 Singers Face Elimination and Fans Get the Power to Save One Contestant

The Voice Season 30 is preparing for one of the biggest elimination events in the show’s history as a brand-new competition stage called Cut Week replaces the traditional Knockouts and Playoffs. With the Battle Rounds officially concluded, 28 talented contestants remain in the competition, but only 13 will earn a place in the highly anticipated Live Shows. The dramatic format change promises difficult decisions for the coaches while giving viewers a surprising opportunity to rescue one additional singer.

Since premiering on September 21, 2026, the landmark season has introduced several changes to the familiar singing competition. Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and rookie coach Riley Green have spent weeks assembling their teams through the Blind Auditions and Battles. One early addition was the First In Button, which replaced the traditional Block Button and allowed the first coach to turn for a contestant to claim that singer before the usual selection process.

Now, following the conclusion of the Battle Rounds on October 26, the competition is entering an entirely different phase. Instead of proceeding through the familiar Knockout and Playoff rounds, the remaining contestants will face a single major elimination event. Cut Week is scheduled to air on Monday, November 2, bringing the competition much closer to its Live Shows, which officially begin on November 9.

Each of the four coaches enters Cut Week with seven contestants, creating a field of 28 remaining singers. The first major decision requires every coach to select two artists who will advance directly to the Live Shows without performing again during the new round. These selections will immediately secure eight positions in the next stage, leaving the other 20 contestants fighting for a much smaller number of opportunities.

The five remaining singers on each team must then deliver another performance to convince their coach that they deserve to continue. After watching their artists compete, each coach will select only one additional contestant to advance. This means four more singers will secure places in the Live Shows, bringing the number of confirmed finalists for the round to 12 while leaving several talented performers facing elimination.

However, the competition includes another surprising twist that gives viewers an important role in determining the final lineup. Once the coaches have selected their 12 advancing artists, the public will have the opportunity to vote one additional contestant into the Live Shows. The singer who wins that vote will receive the final available place, creating a Top 13 instead of the traditional Top 12. As a result, one coach will enter the Live Shows with four artists, while the other three coaches will have three contestants each.

The new format means that 15 of the 28 remaining contestants will be eliminated during Cut Week, making it the largest single-week elimination in the history of The Voice. For singers who have already survived the challenging Blind Auditions and Battle Rounds, the stakes have never been higher. Even contestants who previously earned four-chair turns or received enthusiastic praise from the coaches are not guaranteed to advance, adding considerable uncertainty to the upcoming episode.

The remaining teams feature several impressive singers who have already attracted attention this season. Riley Green’s team includes Ferryn and Brinkley, Joe Henley, Everett Bounds, Kayleigh Matthews, Keiyana Osmond, Allie Rae, and Cade Mower. Queen Latifah enters with Alt Bloom, Lillie Kolich, Bigcountry, Chari, Bryan Jaymes, Mia Knight, and Destinee Monroe. Both coaches must now determine which three singers have the strongest potential to succeed when the competition reaches its live stage.

Adam Levine’s remaining contestants are Connor Closs, Evan James, Brandon Diaz, Owen Uffens, Amanda Mikkel, Lexi Stephens, and Dakota Cohen. Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson’s team consists of Koumba Diallo, Anna McElroy, Nina Howland, Marcus Ladden Jr., Kyle Davis, Brianna Cameron, and Brooklyn Marie. With several artists having already delivered memorable performances, the coaches face difficult choices as they attempt to build the strongest possible teams for the final weeks of competition.

Beyond the new elimination format, The Voice has also introduced an important schedule change. Beginning November 2, the show will air exclusively on Monday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern Time, with the new schedule making room for NBA coverage on NBC. The Live Shows begin November 9, while the Season 30 finale is scheduled for December 14. With 15 singers preparing to leave the competition and viewers receiving the power to save one additional contestant, the first-ever Cut Week is shaping up to be one of the season’s most consequential episodes.
