John Foster’s star power is burning brighter than ever — and his Louisiana roots are showing up for him in a big way.
After tickets for his August 2 headlining show at The Texas Club in Baton Rouge sold out in under an hour, the venue has added a second show on August 1 to meet overwhelming demand. Tickets for the added date went on sale Friday morning, with general admission priced at $40.75 and a VIP experience available for $137.40. The venue seats 1,350 people, and with both shows expected to sell out, Foster is proving he’s not just an “American Idol” runner-up — he’s a bona fide headliner.
A Homecoming to Remember
For Foster, 18, who hails from nearby Addis, Louisiana, this double-night homecoming is more than just a performance — it’s a celebration of the community that raised him. In recent weeks, he’s made waves on a national scale, making his Grand Ole Opry debut and earning a spotlight at CMA Fest in Nashville. But it’s clear that Louisiana holds a special place in his heart, and the feeling is mutual.
Both shows will feature rising local acts Lauren Lee Band and Connor Martin as openers, and the August 1 show comes with an extra treat — a special encore performance featuring Foster and Chase Tyler, who previously shared the stage during the Cajun Country Jam Memorial Day Festival.
Country Legends Are Taking Notice
Just days before the Baton Rouge announcement, Foster and fellow Idol alum Breanna Nix stunned fans and caught the attention of country legend Randy Travis with their acoustic duet of “I Told You So.” Travis, deeply moved by their heartfelt rendition, commented:
“Please finish! I need to hear it!! Y’all are incredible artists and will make Carrie and I both proud!”
The blessing from Travis, who famously performed the song with Carrie Underwood on American Idol in 2009, left both Foster and Nix emotional and committed to finishing the full version.
A Rising Voice in Real Country
Foster’s quick rise hasn’t gone unnoticed in the industry. He’s drawn comparisons to traditional country legends for his authenticity and emotional delivery. From paying tribute to his late friend with a live original in Nashville, to collaborating with Craig Morgan on “Almost Home,” Foster continues to bring a deep sense of heart and purpose to his music — a trait that resonates strongly with fans hungry for real storytelling in country.
And with his girlfriend Brooklyn showing unwavering support throughout his Idol journey and beyond, Foster’s circle of love and inspiration seems to be fueling the fire for what’s shaping up to be a breakout year.
