Luke Bryan Cancels Multiple Shows Due to Ongoing Illness, Fans Rally with Concern as Country Star Battles to Recover

Luke Bryan

Country superstar and American Idol judge Luke Bryan is continuing to battle an illness that has sidelined him from the stage for over a week, leaving fans concerned and sending waves of support his way. Bryan was scheduled to headline major music festivals from June 26–28, 2025, but had to cancel all three appearances.

On June 25, he addressed fans via social media, sharing,

“I’m really sorry to say I won’t be able to play this weekend’s shows due to continued illness. I’ve been hoping to rally, but my voice is just not there yet.”

Fans Encourage Luke to Take His Time to Heal

Bryan’s update, shared across Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, expressed gratitude to fellow country star Eric Church for stepping in as his replacement.

“Huge thanks to my buddy Eric Church for stepping in last minute — and of course, putting on a kick-ass show like he always does. Sitting still is not what I do best, so I can’t wait to be back soon. Love y’all, Luke.”

Bryan was originally scheduled to perform:

June 26 at Country Stampede in Kansas June 27 at NebraskaLand Days June 28 at Country Jam in Colorado

Fans quickly flooded social media with messages of love and encouragement:

“Your health is more important. Take all the time you need and practice self-care.” “Can’t rush your voice getting well. We’ll be here waiting.” “Praying that God lays his hands on you & heals you soon. Your health is the priority.” “Rest your body and your voice. Don’t even talk if you can avoid it. We love you, Luke.”

Health Issues Began with Onstage Struggles in Arkansas

Bryan’s vocal troubles began on June 19 during a concert in Rogers, Arkansas, where he paused mid-show to explain to fans that his voice was failing. In a moment captured on TikTok, Bryan told the crowd:

“I’m gonna get real with y’all. This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever dealt with. I cannot have my voice in this venue for some reason. It happens every time, I don’t know why.”

Despite the struggle, he decided to push forward but offered full refunds to the audience.

“I saw Luke Combs do this a couple of years ago when he was having a weird night on stage and I said, ‘That’s pretty cool.’ So I don’t give a damn — I’m refunding everybody their tickets tonight and we’re gonna keep doing the damn show.”

Bryan then canceled his next shows scheduled for June 20 in Dallas and June 21 in Lafayette, Louisiana, both of which have been rescheduled to September 11 (Lafayette) and September 12 (Dallas).

Fans Can Catch Him Soon — But Not Live Just Yet

Bryan has been on his Country Song Came On Tour since May 29, shortly after wrapping American Idol Season 23. While fans won’t be seeing him live until he recovers, he’ll still be appearing in the CMA Fest special airing June 26 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
