Get ready for an unforgettable farewell. The BBC has officially announced Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, an emotional and intimate documentary chronicling the final years of the Prince of Darkness himself.
Premiering August 18 at 9pm on BBC One (and streaming on BBC iPlayer), this one-hour special captures Ozzy’s incredible journey back to Birmingham for one last concert—a bittersweet goodbye titled “Back to the Beginning,” held at Villa Park. Despite his declining health, Ozzy delivered a powerful final performance from a throne, proving that true rock legends never fade quietly.
Three Years in the Making
Filmed over three years, the documentary takes viewers behind the scenes as the Osbournes navigate their return to the UK. It offers raw, unfiltered moments of struggle, love, laughter, and strength. From battling illness to reclaiming the stage, Coming Home reveals the man behind the myth.
BBC’s Clare Sillery, Head of Documentaries, said:
“We are honoured to have had the opportunity to film with Ozzy and his family. This film captures the humour, heart, and resilience that made Ozzy a global icon.”
Producers Ben Wicks and Colin Barr of Expectation added:
“Ozzy was determined to return to the UK and perform one last time. This film shows just how powerful love, music, and family can be.”
A Final Farewell
Earlier this week, Aimée Osbourne submitted Ozzy’s death certificate in London, confirming the icon passed away from cardiac arrest at the age of 76. He died peacefully at home in Buckinghamshire, surrounded by loved ones. As he wished, he was laid to rest by a tranquil lake on his property.
On the certificate, Aimee wrote:
“Songwriter, performer, and rock legend.”
Mark your calendars. Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home isn’t just a documentary—it’s a tribute to a man who changed music forever.
