Heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne has been laid to rest in a deeply personal and emotional ceremony at his Buckinghamshire estate, surrounded by close family, friends, and a few legendary names from the world of rock.
The former Black Sabbath frontman, known as the “Prince of Darkness,” was buried beside the lake at his sprawling 250-acre property, as per his wishes. In classic Ozzy style, a massive floral display paid tribute to his bold legacy with the words: “OZZY F*ING OSBOURNE”** emblazoned on the banks of the estate.
A Rock ‘n’ Roll Goodbye

Ozzy’s farewell was anything but traditional. The private service followed a public procession through Birmingham, where thousands of fans lined the streets to say goodbye. A live brass band played heavy metal classics like Iron Man, as the city of his birth honored its most iconic son.
At his home, mourners gathered under white tents near the estate’s lake, where a music stage and floral tributes created a bittersweet backdrop. Security was tight, in line with Sharon Osbourne’s wishes for a peaceful, intimate gathering.

Stars including Metallica’s James Hetfield, Sir Elton John, and Ozzy’s Sabbath bandmates — Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward — were expected to attend. Singer Yungblud, who grew close to Ozzy in recent years, gave a heartfelt reading.
Sharon and Family Lead Emotional Tributes
Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife of over 40 years, stood strong with their children Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis, joined by grandchildren and extended family. In touching moments, they laid flowers, made peace signs, and shared warm gestures with the fans who stood outside the gates with tributes of their own.
Kelly and Jack were seen embracing on Black Sabbath Bridge during Wednesday’s public procession — a symbolic location for a band that helped define the sound of heavy metal.

A Legacy of Humor and Heart
In classic Ozzy fashion, the rock star had long said he didn’t want a mournful goodbye. “Make it a celebration, not a mope-fest,” he joked in past interviews, even suggesting a few playful pranks for his own funeral.
He once told The Times:
“I honestly don’t care what they play at my funeral — they can put on Justin Bieber or We Are The Diddymen if it makes people happy.”
Ozzy also famously said he’d like a crabapple tree planted over his grave, so future generations could “make wine out of me and get p***ed out of their heads.”
A Life That Changed Music Forever
Born John Michael Osbourne in 1948 in Birmingham, Ozzy rose from working-class roots to global stardom. With Black Sabbath, he helped birth a genre — heavy metal — that would influence generations. He went on to find solo success and later, a whole new wave of fame through the hit reality show The Osbournes.

Despite struggles with addiction and health, Ozzy remained fiercely loved by fans. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019, he gave his final performance just weeks ago at a sold-out “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert in Birmingham, performing to more than 40,000 fans. It was a full-circle moment, with fireworks lighting up the sky as he thanked the crowd:
“You’ve no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Birmingham Remembers Its Hero
Throughout Birmingham, murals, flowers, and messages of love appeared in recent days. The Coldstream Guards even performed a tribute rendition of Paranoid during the Changing of the Guard in London — a powerful salute to the rock legend.

A book of condolences was opened by the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, which is currently running a tribute exhibition titled: Ozzy Osbourne (1948–2025): Working Class Hero.
Forever the Prince of Darkness
In a statement, the Osbourne family said Ozzy passed “surrounded by love.” He is survived by Sharon, and his five children: Jessica, Louis, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.

Though he’s gone, his voice, his wild spirit, and his unforgettable legacy will echo for generations. Ozzy Osbourne didn’t just perform music — he embodied it, lived it, and redefined what it meant to be a rock star.
As fans chant “Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy!” across the world one final time, one thing is clear: The Prince of Darkness has left this world — but the legend remains.
🖤 Rest in peace, Ozzy. 🖤
