David Gilmour’s IMAX Concert Film to Premiere Worldwide on September 17

David Gilmour, the iconic guitarist and voice behind Pink Floyd, returns to the big screen with Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome — a stunning concert film capturing a landmark performance from his 2024 Luck and Strange tour. Set to premiere globally in IMAX and select theaters on September 17, 2025, this film offers fans an unforgettable blend of music and history.

Filmed at the ancient Circus Maximus in Rome — a venue steeped in the echoes of gladiators’ battles — the movie immerses viewers in an atmospheric journey where Gilmour’s legendary solos reverberate through time. Directed by longtime collaborator Gavin Elder, the film captures not just a concert, but a cinematic experience, weaving together Gilmour’s introspective solo work with the enduring legacy of Pink Floyd.

The setlist features powerful performances of classics like “Sorrow,” “Comfortably Numb,” “High Hopes,” and “Wish You Were Here,” alongside fresh tracks from his acclaimed 2024 album Luck and Strange. Adding an intimate touch, Gilmour’s daughter Romany joins him on stage, contributing delicate harp harmonies and their heartfelt duet, “Between Two Points.”

The film is just the beginning of this celebration. On October 17, fans can relive the magic at home with The Luck and Strange Concerts — a 23-track live album available as a 2-CD set, 4-LP vinyl, and an extravagant super deluxe box set. This collector’s edition includes a 120-page hardcover photo book curated by Gilmour’s wife and lyricist, Polly Samson, along with backstage memorabilia and high-quality audio mixes in Stereo 96/24, 5.1 surround sound, and Dolby Atmos.

Tickets for the cinematic premiere go on sale August 6 at davidgilmour.film, and screenings are expected to sell out fast — a testament to the lasting devotion of fans who continue to follow Gilmour’s musical journey across the decades.

With Luck and Strange, David Gilmour shows that time has only deepened his artistry. His voice may carry the weathering of years, but it’s filled with wisdom; his guitar still speaks with unparalleled emotion; and his ability to make time stand still — even if only for a song — remains as powerful as ever.
