With just two episodes left before the finale of American Idol, the competition has officially reached its most intense phase. After the April 27 eliminations of Brooks Rosser and Daniel Stallworth, only five contestants remain—and now, the race is starting to take a clearer shape.
At this stage, everything is in the hands of viewers. Voting through text, the official website, and social media continues to determine who advances, with the lowest vote-getters being eliminated week by week. As the semifinals approach, only three contestants will move on to the finale.
While no prediction is guaranteed, patterns are beginning to emerge. By looking at performance views on YouTube and social media followings, fans are getting a clearer picture of who is gaining the most traction—and who might be falling behind.
Among the remaining contestants, Braden Rumfelt currently appears to be at a disadvantage based on numbers alone. With around 31,100 Instagram followers and relatively lower YouTube views compared to others, he ranks fifth in this prediction model.

Just ahead of him is Chris Tungseth, who has built a strong emotional connection with fans but still trails behind in overall digital metrics. While his journey has been inspiring, the numbers suggest he may need a major boost to secure a spot in the finale.
Jordan McCullough sits in third place, backed by steady growth and consistent performances. With around 37,800 Instagram followers and solid YouTube views, he has positioned himself as a strong contender who could still make a late push.
But the real story lies at the top.
Hannah Harper has been a dominant force all season. From a viral audition to maintaining one of the highest engagement levels, she has built a massive following of around 388,000 on Instagram—far ahead of anyone else. Her performance views also remain among the highest, reinforcing her status as a frontrunner.
However, for the first time, she is no longer in the top spot.
Keyla Richardson has surged into first place in these predictions, driven by strong recent performances and growing support from live audiences. With YouTube views reaching 45,000 and 42,000 for her latest performances, she has captured momentum at exactly the right time.
This shift has created what many are now calling a clear two-way race between Keyla and Hannah. Both bring different strengths—Hannah with her massive fanbase and consistent presence, and Keyla with her rising momentum and powerful recent performances.
The gap between them, however, is not insurmountable. With voting still open and performances yet to come, the lead could change again at any moment.
At the same time, Jordan remains a potential wildcard. If he delivers a standout performance, he could disrupt the two-way race and push himself into the finale conversation.
As for Braden and Chris, the challenge is clear. They will need breakout moments to overcome the current numbers and shift the narrative in their favor.
What makes this stage so unpredictable is that metrics don’t always tell the full story. Past seasons have shown that emotional connection, timing, and a single unforgettable performance can outweigh even the strongest numbers.
With the finale set to air soon, the pressure has never been higher. Every vote now carries more weight, and every performance could redefine the outcome.
Right now, it may look like a two-person race—but on American Idol, nothing stays certain for long. And as the final episodes unfold, the biggest twist may still be waiting just ahead.
