Bunnie XO is finally speaking publicly about the end of her marriage to Jelly Roll, giving fans a raw and emotional explanation of how their relationship quietly began falling apart behind closed doors.
On a new episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast, Bunnie said the split was not caused by one simple issue. Instead, she described a long period of bottled-up feelings, emotional pressure, and difficult conversations that stopped happening when they needed them most.
According to Bunnie, one of the biggest problems in their marriage was that she and Jelly Roll were never good at arguing. She said both of them often kept things inside instead of dealing with problems directly.
For years, she believed they were strong enough to have hard conversations. But over the last year and a half, she said that part of their relationship started to fade as life became more complicated.
Bunnie explained that the breaking point came during a major argument on Mother’s Day. In the middle of the fight, she told Jelly Roll to file for divorce, a statement she said carried serious meaning in their marriage.
After that argument, she said she packed a bag and left. What may have sounded like something said in anger became the moment that pushed their marriage toward its final chapter.
Bunnie also revealed that their IVF journey placed enormous strain on their relationship. She said trying to build a family over the past two years affected her emotionally, physically, and mentally.
She described the process as one of the loneliest and darkest experiences she has ever gone through. Even while living a public life, she said parts of that pain felt deeply private and isolating.
According to Bunnie, Jelly Roll was also dealing with his own struggles during the fertility process. She said medical treatments and hormone changes affected him as well, adding more tension to an already fragile situation.
The couple also suffered multiple losses during their journey to have a baby. Bunnie said they lost four embryos and went through several transfers that did not result in the outcome they had prayed for.
She spoke about the heartbreak of losing twins they had hoped to welcome, along with other failed attempts. Those losses became part of the emotional weight both of them were carrying.
News of the split became public after reports confirmed that Jelly Roll filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee, on May 18. The filing reportedly listed irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakup.
Before the divorce became public, fans had already started noticing possible signs of trouble. Jelly Roll appeared without his wedding ring during some public appearances, including a performance at CMA Fest.
Bunnie had also shared social media posts that fans later viewed differently, including messages about trusting instincts and stepping into a more independent chapter. At the time, many people did not know how much was happening behind the scenes.
The couple married in 2016, separated briefly in 2018, reconciled, and later renewed their vows in 2023.
