Robert Irwin created a real-life fairy-tale moment for his four-year-old niece Grace Warrior when he secretly transformed himself into Prince Charming for Halloween. Grace had chosen to dress as Cinderella, but she had no idea what her uncle was planning for her.
Robert later revealed that the idea came together while he was competing on “Dancing With the Stars.” Knowing Grace would be Cinderella, he contacted the show’s wardrobe department shortly after Disney Night and asked whether they could help him find or make a Prince Charming costume.
The wardrobe team came through, allowing Robert to keep the surprise going until Halloween. His sister Bindi Irwin helped build the excitement by telling Grace that Prince Charming might be coming to see her, without revealing who would actually be inside the costume.
Then Robert walked through the door dressed from head to toe as the Disney prince. He later recalled that Grace suddenly became unusually shy when she saw him, something he said he had rarely witnessed from his normally outgoing niece.

Once she realized who was underneath the costume, Grace’s reaction made the surprise even sweeter. Robert recalled her excitedly realizing that “Uncle Robert” was Prince Charming and marveling that he had apparently been Prince Charming all along.
The pair then completed the Cinderella experience with a dance. Robert shared footage showing him holding Grace’s hands and twirling her around in her blue princess dress while “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” played.
There was also a fun connection to Robert’s time on “Dancing With the Stars.” After spending weeks learning choreography and ballroom technique, he joked that he was happy his new dancing skills were finally coming in handy away from the competition.
Their fairy-tale evening did not end with the dance. Robert and Grace went trick-or-treating together, still dressed as Prince Charming and Cinderella, turning an ordinary Halloween neighborhood walk into another part of Grace’s special adventure.
Robert later shared an especially adorable detail from that outing. Whenever they reached a house with decorations that looked a little scary, Grace would send Prince Charming ahead first to make sure everything was safe before Cinderella approached to collect her candy.

The moment meant just as much to Bindi, who publicly thanked her younger brother for being such a wonderful uncle, brother and friend. She told Robert that his effort had made Grace’s “entire year,” showing just how much the surprise meant to the family.
Robert and Grace already shared a special connection through dancing. During his “Dancing With the Stars” journey, he had previously posted videos teaching Grace some of his moves, joking that she was preparing herself to compete on a future season of the show.
What made the Prince Charming surprise so memorable was not an expensive Halloween celebration or an elaborate public event. Robert simply discovered something his niece loved and used the opportunity to create a memory especially for her. For one Halloween night, Grace got to become Cinderella, dance with her own Prince Charming and discover that the prince she was waiting for had been Uncle Robert all along.
