The Blind Auditions have already delivered four-chair turns, emotional performances, intense coach battles and several surprises, giving fans plenty to talk about as the new season gets underway.
Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson are back in their coaching chairs, while newcomers Queen Latifah and Riley Green are bringing a fresh dynamic to the panel.
Season 30 is also introducing some changes to the competition, including the new First In Button. When multiple coaches turn for the same artist, the coach who turned first can use the button to immediately claim that singer. Each coach can use it only once during the Blind Auditions.
The traditional Block is also absent this season, creating a different strategy for the coaches as they build their teams.
The premiere week began with several memorable auditions, including the first four-chair turn of the season. Sisters Ferryn and Brinkley Wright impressed all four coaches with their performance and ultimately chose Riley Green as their coach.
Another major moment came when 15-year-old Koumba Diallo earned a four-chair turn. Queen Latifah was especially impressed by the young singer, adding another promising artist to her growing team.
The second night ended with a major cliffhanger when 23-year-old New York City singer Lexi Stephens earned turns from all four coaches. Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson made strong pitches, but viewers had to wait until the following episode to learn her decision.
When the Blind Auditions resumed, Stephens chose Adam Levine.
The final night brought another major four-chair turn when Amanda Mikkel performed “Moon River.” Adam, Kelly, Queen Latifah and Riley all turned, but Adam used his First In Button to claim Mikkel for Team Adam.
With the premiere week now complete, the four teams have started to take shape.
Team Adam includes Destinee Monroe, Owen Uffens, Lexi Stephens and Amanda Mikkel.
Team Kelly includes Hazel Gerson, Brianna Cameron, Koumba Diallo, Johnnie Kapua, Kyle Davis and Brooklyn Marie.
Team Queen includes BigCountry, Marcus Ladden Jr., Mia Knight, Alt Bloom and Morgan Lett.
Team Riley includes Joe Henley, sisters Brinkley and Ferryn Wright, Caroline Alexis, Harmony McKee and Kenna Elpers.
While it is still very early in the competition, some teams are already attracting attention for the variety and strength of the artists they have assembled.
There is also another new element for viewers to follow this season: the TikTok Artist of the Season award. Artists’ social-media engagement will be tracked throughout the competition, adding another way for fans to support their favorites.
And the early response is already noticeable. BigCountry and 14-year-old Brooklyn Marie have each reached 1 million likes on their official Blind Audition videos posted by NBC’s The Voice account, putting both artists among the early social-media standouts of Season 30.
With the Blind Auditions continuing, the teams are far from complete, and more artists will soon join the competition.
With the three-night premiere week complete, all four coaches now have their first group of artists.
