Witney Carson is directly addressing speculation that she secretly wants her Dancing With the Stars journey with Guillermo Rodriguez to end early because she is pregnant — and she says that interpretation couldn’t be further from how she actually feels.
The questions intensified after Carson and Rodriguez once again found themselves among the final three couples waiting for results during Yacht Rock Night. It was the third consecutive week they had been left standing during the tense final moments of elimination.

Some viewers began studying Carson’s facial expressions whenever another couple was eliminated. Because she sometimes appeared serious rather than immediately celebrating, speculation grew that she might actually be disappointed about advancing.
Carson says there is a much simpler explanation.
She explained that being shown among the final three does not necessarily mean those couples received the three lowest vote totals. What it does mean, however, is that she and Guillermo don’t get a normal moment where their names are announced as safe and they can immediately celebrate.
Instead, Carson often realizes she is advancing at almost the exact same moment that one of her friends learns their season is over.
That was particularly noticeable when Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart were eliminated. Carson said her first emotion was genuine sadness for the couple leaving, followed by happiness that she and Guillermo were getting another week. She added that viewers don’t always see the celebration that happens afterward.
But Carson was especially clear about the question fans have been asking: Yes, she wants to stay.
She said she is “very happy” to continue competing and praised Guillermo’s determination, revealing that he regularly keeps practicing when she sits down to rest. Even during downtime at the studio, she says Guillermo can often be found working on his steps.
Carson also addressed concerns surrounding her pregnancy. The 32-year-old, who is expecting her third child, said she knows how far she can safely push her body, is following what her doctor has approved and considers her baby’s health her top priority. She acknowledged feeling more tired than usual but said she currently feels good enough to continue.
And that may explain why the rumors gained traction in the first place. Between Carson resting more frequently in rehearsals, her serious expressions during eliminations and Guillermo repeatedly finishing near the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard, viewers were seeing individual moments without necessarily seeing the full context behind them.
Carson’s message now makes her goal much clearer: pregnancy hasn’t made her want an easy way out. She wants to keep dancing, keep helping Guillermo improve and continue their unlikely run for as long as the competition allows them to stay.
