Britt Stewart Breaks Down After Shocking DWTS Elimination as Behind-the-Scenes Witney Carson Moment Sparks Fan Discussion

Britt Stewart’s emotional reaction to her unexpected Dancing With the Stars elimination is drawing new attention after behind-the-scenes footage captured a heartbreaking moment that viewers did not see during the live broadcast.

Britt and her celebrity partner Taylor Hanson were eliminated during Season 35’s Yacht Rock Night on September 29, bringing their ballroom journey to an abrupt end after only three weeks of competition.

The result came as a surprise to many viewers after Britt and Taylor performed a foxtrot to the Doobie Brothers’ “What a Fool Believes” and received 18 out of 30 from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli.

Once the broadcast ended, however, cameras continued rolling above the ballroom.

The footage showed an emotional Britt surrounded by members of the DWTS cast as she tried to process what had just happened.

Julianne Hough approached Britt and embraced her, followed by co-host Alfonso Ribeiro. Taylor also appeared to check on his partner, while pros including Pasha Pashkov and Ezra Sosa came over to comfort her.

At one point, Britt could be seen fighting back tears while speaking with those around her.

But one particular interaction quickly caught fans’ attention.

Witney Carson, who had been standing nearby, appeared to wait for an opportunity to approach Britt. When Witney finally reached her, she said something that could not clearly be heard in the footage.

Britt gave a slight smile and looked away. As Witney leaned toward her for what appeared to be a hug, Britt said something inaudible before quickly heading toward the stairs while wiping away a tear.

The brief exchange immediately sparked discussion among Dancing With the Stars fans online, with some viewers wondering whether Britt had intentionally avoided the hug.

But the short clip provides no clear evidence of a disagreement between the two pros.

Britt had just experienced a highly emotional elimination, and Witney’s actions afterward suggest there was no bad blood intended on her side.

Witney later shared a photo of Britt and Taylor on her Instagram Stories and wrote that their journey had been cut “WAY TOO SOON,” while also telling Britt that she loved her.

Witney herself appeared shocked when Britt and Taylor’s elimination was announced, covering her mouth as the result was revealed.

The elimination was especially painful because Taylor had made it clear how much he wanted to help Britt finally reach the end of the competition.

Speaking after their exit, both Britt and Taylor admitted they were disappointed by how quickly their season ended. Britt described the connection she had developed with Taylor, while Taylor became emotional discussing how much he had hoped to help his partner compete for the Mirrorball Trophy.

Their departure also sparked a strong response from other members of the cast.

Pro Ezra Sosa openly expressed frustration over the result, while fans flooded social media with messages arguing that Britt and Taylor deserved more time in the competition.

The elimination was particularly surprising because Britt and Taylor were not the lowest-scoring couple of the night.

Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson received 15 out of 30, while Britt and Taylor earned 18. However, DWTS eliminations are determined using both judges’ scores and viewer votes, meaning higher-scoring couples are not automatically safe.

For Britt, the footage offered viewers a rare glimpse of what happens once the ballroom cameras are supposed to stop rolling.

Instead of the composed smile audiences often see during televised eliminations, fans saw a competitor trying to hold back tears while saying goodbye to a season that ended far earlier than she expected.

And although the fleeting Witney Carson interaction has fueled plenty of speculation, the larger picture appears to be one of heartbreak over the elimination rather than confirmed tension between the two dancers.
