The Voice Season 30 Announces Major Airtime Changes as NBC Makes Room for NBA Games — Here’s the New Weekly Schedule

Fans of The Voice Season 30 are facing a major change to their weekly viewing routine as NBC prepares to expand its NBA basketball coverage. After weeks of Monday and Tuesday broadcasts, the popular singing competition is shifting to a new schedule that will affect when viewers can watch performances, dramatic eliminations, and the highly anticipated Live Shows.

The change comes at an important moment for Season 30, which features Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Riley Green, and Queen Latifah as coaches. With the Blind Auditions completed and the Battle Rounds underway, contestants are competing for increasingly limited opportunities to advance.

Beginning Monday, October 19, The Voice will move to a once-a-week broadcast schedule. Instead of airing on both Monday and Tuesday nights, new episodes will be shown on Mondays, allowing NBC to dedicate its Tuesday primetime lineup to NBA coverage.

The October 19 episode, titled “The Battles Part 3,” is scheduled to air from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time. The two-hour installment will continue the intense head-to-head performances as coaches decide which contestants deserve to remain in the competition.

Another two-hour episode, “The Battles Part 4,” is scheduled for Monday, October 26, beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern. This installment will conclude the Battle Rounds, bringing more difficult decisions and potentially emotional departures as the remaining teams take shape.

The reason for the schedule adjustment is NBC’s expanded partnership with the NBA. Basketball coverage begins occupying Tuesday evenings on October 20, including major opening-night matchups that will take over the timeslot previously used by The Voice.

However, the move to Monday-only broadcasts is not the only change viewers need to know about. Another airtime adjustment is expected in November, when NBC introduces additional programming to its Monday evening lineup.

Beginning November 2, The Voice is expected to shift to a one-hour broadcast from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time. The change follows the scheduled return of St. Denis Medical at 8 p.m. and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins at 8:30 p.m.

The timing coincides with another major development in the competition. Season 30 is replacing its traditional Knockout Rounds with a new stage called Cut Week, designed to dramatically reduce the number of contestants before the Live Shows.

During Cut Week, each coach will face difficult decisions about which singers should advance. The format allows coaches to select two artists directly for the Live Shows, while the remaining contestants must compete for additional opportunities to stay in the competition.

The changes will become even more significant once the Live Shows begin. Unlike previous seasons that featured performances on one night and results on another, Season 30 will introduce real-time voting, allowing viewers to help determine eliminations during the same broadcast.

The revised format means audiences will need to watch carefully and participate while episodes are airing. With performances and results taking place on the same night, contestants will face immediate consequences, creating a faster and potentially more unpredictable competition.

The biggest takeaway for The Voice Season 30 fans is that Monday nights are now essential. New episodes will air October 19 and 26 at 8 p.m. Eastern, followed by an expected move to 9 p.m. Eastern beginning November 2. With NBA basketball replacing Tuesday broadcasts and major eliminations approaching, keeping track of the updated schedule will be crucial for viewers hoping not to miss the season’s biggest moments.
