The Voice Season 30 is introducing significant changes to its voting rules and broadcast schedule, giving viewers a more immediate role in deciding which contestants survive the competition. With the first-ever Cut Week taking place on November 2 and the Live Shows beginning November 9, fans will need to pay close attention to new voting methods, shorter voting windows, and a revised television schedule. The changes mark a major departure from the familiar format used in previous seasons.
One of the biggest developments is the introduction of text-message and TikTok voting. These methods will allow eligible viewers to support their favorite contestants during designated voting periods. Rather than relying on the traditional overnight voting process, fans will need to participate while voting remains open during the broadcast, making it especially important to follow the instructions announced on the show.
For text-message voting, viewers will be directed to send their chosen contestant’s name to an official number displayed during the episode. The system is intended to provide a straightforward way for fans to participate using their mobile phones. However, supporters must follow the official instructions carefully, including any eligibility requirements and limits on the number of votes permitted.
TikTok will also become part of the voting process. Fans will be able to participate through designated voting posts associated with the show’s official account, following the instructions provided for each round. This approach introduces another way for audiences to support contestants while connecting the television competition with its growing social media following.

Another important change concerns the announcement of elimination results. Instead of waiting until a separate results episode, viewers will learn which contestants advance during the same broadcast. The shorter voting windows mean that fans who normally watch recorded episodes the following day may miss their opportunity to participate. As a result, watching the competition live will become particularly important.
Before the regular Live Shows begin, Season 30 will introduce Cut Week, an elimination round that replaces the traditional Knockouts and Playoffs. The November 2 episode brings together the remaining 28 contestants from Teams Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Riley Green, and Queen Latifah. Each coach must choose two singers to advance automatically before the remaining five artists compete for one additional position on their respective teams.
After the coaches select three contestants from each team, 12 singers will have secured places in the Live Shows. However, the competition will offer one additional opportunity through America’s wildcard vote. Viewers will help determine which eligible contestant receives the final position, completing the Top 13. The format means that 15 singers will be eliminated during Cut Week, creating one of the season’s most consequential episodes.
The voting changes arrive alongside an important adjustment to NBC’s television schedule. Beginning November 2, The Voice moves to a 9 p.m. Eastern Time starting slot on Mondays, one hour later than its previous broadcast time. The competition has also discontinued its regular Tuesday episodes, with the remainder of Season 30 airing on Monday nights. Cut Week will feature a two-hour broadcast, while most subsequent Live Shows will run for one hour.

The Live Shows are scheduled to begin November 9 and continue through the season finale on December 14. During this stage, viewers will have opportunities to support their favorite performers as the competition narrows toward its eventual winner. NBC and Peacock will carry the live broadcasts, while the season’s themed performances will include special musical celebrations and challenges designed to showcase the remaining contestants’ versatility.
With the new voting system, revised schedule, and same-night results, Season 30 is shaping up to be a particularly demanding competition for both performers and their supporters. Contestants must deliver memorable performances while fans need to remain aware of voting deadlines and eligibility requirements. As the competition moves toward its final weeks, the ability to vote quickly and correctly could make a meaningful difference in determining which singer ultimately wins The Voice.
