The Voice Season 30 delivered another memorable performance during its first-ever Cut Week when 15-year-old country singer Allie Rae impressed the coaching panel with her rendition of Lainey Wilson’s “4x4xU.” The young Team Riley Green contestant demonstrated remarkable confidence and vocal maturity, earning enthusiastic praise from all four coaches. Her performance also prompted Green to compare her to country music legend Reba McEntire, highlighting the potential he sees in the rising performer.
Allie entered the November 2 episode facing one of the toughest challenges of her journey. Under the newly introduced Cut Week format, each coach selected two artists to advance automatically before the remaining five competed for one final guaranteed Live Show position. With so few places available, even talented contestants faced the possibility of elimination.
Before the performances began, Green selected Cade Mower and sister duo Ferryn and Brinkley Wright to advance directly. That decision left Allie competing against Everett Bounds, Keiyana Osmond, Kayleigh Matthews, and Joe Henley. Each contestant brought a different musical style to the stage, making the competition particularly challenging for the rookie coach.
For her performance, Allie chose “4x4xU,” the popular country ballad by Lainey Wilson. The song provided an opportunity to showcase both her vocal abilities and her understanding of contemporary country music. Rather than attempting to imitate Wilson completely, the teenager delivered a confident interpretation that emphasized her own personality and natural country sound.
Her performance quickly caught the attention of Kelly Clarkson, who appeared amazed by Allie’s abilities at such a young age. Clarkson praised the teenager’s progress and suggested that she was already remarkably advanced in her musical development. The compliment offered encouragement during a round in which every contestant was competing under considerable pressure.
Green was equally enthusiastic, comparing Allie to one of country music’s most recognizable performers. Describing her as a “little mini Reba,” he praised her fierce stage presence and the confidence she displayed throughout the performance. The comparison to Reba McEntire was particularly meaningful because of the singer’s reputation for combining powerful vocals with a commanding performance style.
The country star also reflected on how much Allie had improved since her Blind Audition. He explained that her growth had been noticeable despite the relatively short time she had spent in the competition. Green was especially impressed that her stage presence seemed far more mature than her age would suggest, describing the performance as a major step forward.
Allie’s performance also demonstrated why Green had shown confidence in her earlier in the season. As his First-In selection during the Blind Auditions, she had already established herself as an artist he wanted to develop. Her Cut Week appearance showed how she had responded to the opportunity, bringing greater confidence and polish to the stage.
Despite the praise, the competition ended in disappointment for Allie when Green ultimately selected Joe Henley for his team’s final guaranteed Live Show position. Henley’s performance of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes” earned a standing ovation from all four coaches, making Green’s decision particularly difficult. Allie was therefore left among the contestants eligible for the audience’s final wildcard selection.
Although Allie did not secure automatic advancement, her performance became another important milestone in her musical journey. At just 15 years old, she has already performed on national television, received praise from established recording artists, and earned a comparison to Reba McEntire. With one additional Live Show position still available through America’s vote, her immediate future in Season 30 remains undecided. Regardless of the outcome, her Lainey Wilson cover demonstrated why she is a young country singer worth watching.
