In a career full of outrageous reinventions, the “Prince of Darkness” has just pulled off his most unexpected transformation yet — as a painter, and not just any painter… a chimpanzee-collaborating one.
Yes, you read that right.
Ozzy Osbourne, the godfather of heavy metal, has unleashed a surprise art collection like no other: five bold, abstract paintings co-created with rescued chimpanzees from the Save the Chimps sanctuary in Florida. But beyond the shock factor, there’s heart: every cent from the auction will go to the sanctuary that inspired the project — a haven for over 220 chimps rescued from labs, circuses, and roadside cages.

Art, Not Apologies: Ozzy’s Unexpected New Era
For the first time in his legendary career, Ozzy has decided to sell his private artwork — and it’s not for fame or fortune.
“I’ve never sold my paintings before,” he shared. “But this means something. These chimps have seen hell. If my name, my music, or my brush can help them live better, that’s all I care about.”
The idea began after Ozzy learned about Save the Chimps through animal rights circles. What started as curiosity grew into something deeper — a raw creative outlet, rooted in themes he knows all too well: survival, chaos, and healing.

Man Meets Beast on the Canvas
The artistic process was as wild as it sounds. Chimps at the sanctuary were given safe, non-toxic paints and encouraged to freely express themselves on blank canvases. Their vibrant, instinctive brushstrokes became the foundation for the final pieces.
Ozzy then stepped in to add his own layers — cryptic symbols, surreal textures, and energy that echoed the spirit of his music. Each piece is named after a classic Osbourne track:
- “Crazy Train”
- “Bark at the Moon”
- “No More Tears”
- “War Pigs”
- “Dreamer”
Each canvas is signed, professionally framed, and includes a certificate of authenticity — plus a short film capturing this one-of-a-kind collaboration: chimps flinging color, Ozzy painting over it with focus and fire.

Two Survivors, One Story
The emotional core of this project isn’t just Ozzy’s shift from stage to studio — it’s the connection between two kinds of survivors. The chimps at Save the Chimps have endured isolation, trauma, and neglect. Now, they live on expansive island sanctuaries with fresh air, family, and freedom.
“These chimps have been through the darkness — like me,” Ozzy said. “But they came out the other side. This art is about that: survival, chaos, and beauty.”
Molly Polidoroff, Executive Director of the sanctuary, praised Ozzy’s vision: “These paintings explode with emotion. They help us tell the story of recovery — and they fund the future for these animals.”
Your Chance to Own Rock & Roll’s Wildest Art
The five pieces are being auctioned through OmegaAuctions.co.uk, with bidding open until 5 PM BST, July 17. With only five original works available, and Ozzy’s name attached, the bidding war is already heating up.
But this is more than memorabilia. It’s a rare moment where music, activism, and primal creativity collide. For Ozzy, it’s a new voice. For the chimps, it’s a new chance at life.
As he put it:
“I’ve screamed on stage for decades. This time, I let the chimps do the talking. Bid high. Give them the life they deserve.”
