After fourteen emotional weeks of competition, performances, eliminations, and unforgettable moments, American Idol Season 24 is finally preparing for its biggest night yet.
The highly anticipated finale is set to air live on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on ABC, where one of the season’s final three contestants will officially be crowned the next American Idol.
But before the winner is revealed, producers are preparing one of the most packed and star-studded finales the show has delivered in years.
Host Ryan Seacrest officially revealed the full finale lineup at the end of the semifinal episode, immediately sending fans into a frenzy online as viewers realized just how many major performances, surprise returns, and emotional collaborations are planned for the live show.
The finale will center around finalists Hannah Harper, Jordan McCullough, and Keyla Richardson, who officially advanced after an emotional semifinal round that narrowed the competition from five contestants down to three.

During the semifinal episode, the Top 5 contestants each performed twice in hopes of earning enough votes to survive another week. One round featured a special crossover event with cast members from Dancing with the Stars, creating one of the season’s most talked-about collaborative nights.
The contestants then returned for another major challenge: emotional duets with former American Idol contestants.
The semifinal pairings included Hannah Harper performing with Kellie Pickler, Keyla Richardson sharing the stage with Taylor Hicks, Jordan McCullough teaming up with Elliott Yamin, Chris Tungseth performing with Bucky Covington, and Braden Rumfelt singing alongside Paris Bennett.
At the end of the night, contestants Chris Tungseth and Braden Rumfelt were eliminated, officially setting the stage for the Top 3 showdown.
Now, the finale itself is expected to feature nonstop performances from both current stars and music legends.
All three judges — Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie — are scheduled to perform live during the broadcast.
Country music legends Brad Paisley and Lee Ann Womack will also take the stage, alongside returning Idol favorite Clay Aiken, whose comeback appearance has already generated major excitement among longtime viewers.

But the lineup does not stop there.
The finale will also include performances from Blues Traveler, Cameron Whitcomb, En Vogue, Jason Mraz, Nelly, Shinedown, Tori Kelly, and legendary rock group Mötley Crüe.
Fans are especially emotional about the return of eliminated contestants from Season 24, many of whom became fan favorites throughout the competition. Returning singers are expected to include Kyndal Inskeep, Rae Boyd, Lucas Leon, Daniel Stallworth, Braden Rumfelt, Philmon Lee, and Brooks Rosser among others.
Several of those contestants will also participate in special duet performances that producers appear to be heavily spotlighting during the finale.
One of the most talked-about collaborations involves Braden Rumfelt performing with Clay Aiken after Clay personally invited him through a surprise video message earlier in the season. Fans online are already calling the duet one of the night’s potential emotional highlights.
Meanwhile, Lucas Leon is set to share the stage with Brad Paisley in another performance fans are eagerly waiting to see.
But one of the biggest emotional moments may involve Hannah Harper herself.
The Missouri native, who has become the season’s standout country and bluegrass voice, was surprised with the news that she would perform alongside her favorite country artist, Lee Ann Womack, during the finale.
“This doesn’t feel real,” Hannah wrote emotionally after learning the news. “What an absolute honor.”
Now, with the finale only hours away, excitement surrounding the season has reached another level entirely.
Between superstar performances, emotional contestant returns, surprise duets, and one final vote that will determine the next American Idol champion, fans are already calling this one of the biggest finale nights the show has produced in years.
