ELIMINATION TWIST — DWTS SEASON 35 PREMIERE WILL BE DIFFERENT

Dancing With the Stars Season 35 is introducing an unusual format for its premiere, giving the celebrities even less time to establish themselves before the competition begins claiming its first contestants.

Instead of having the entire cast perform on the same night, the premiere will be split across two nights. The men will take the ballroom on September 15, followed by the women on September 16.

The change means the celebrities will not all have the same opportunity to make their first impression with viewers. Each group will have its own night to perform before the first eliminations arrive.

The shortened introduction could make the opening of the season especially intense. Contestants who might normally have several weeks to improve and build support will instead face the pressure of elimination almost immediately.

According to the announced format, one male celebrity and one female celebrity will be eliminated during the premiere. That creates an unusual situation in which two contestants will leave before the full cast has even completed a traditional first-week competition.

The twist also puts additional pressure on the professional dancers. They will have very little time to establish chemistry with their celebrity partners and present a routine capable of making an immediate impression.

For the celebrities, the challenge is equally significant. A contestant who struggles during the first performance may not have another opportunity to recover, making those opening routines particularly important.

The format could also create some unexpected results. Familiar faces and celebrities with previous performance experience may attract attention early, but Dancing With the Stars has repeatedly shown that ballroom technique and audience connection can produce surprising outcomes.

With Season 35 featuring stars including Julia Stiles, Jenna Dewan, Harry Shum Jr., Amber Glenn, Tatyana Ali, Giada De Laurentiis and Taylor Hanson, expectations are already high. The unusual premiere structure adds another layer of uncertainty to the competition.

Ultimately, the biggest question is which celebrities will manage to make an immediate connection with both the judges and viewers. With two eliminations coming so quickly, there will be little room for anyone to find their footing before the first results are announced.
