Jelly Roll’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down. His latest album, Beautifully Broken, has already spent several months climbing and holding firm on the Billboard charts, and it just got a fresh boost — thanks in large part to a show-stopping duet with American Idol Season 23 winner Jamal Roberts.

The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter took the stage with Roberts during the Idol finale, performing two powerful songs from his chart-topping album. The nationally televised moment reignited interest in Jelly Roll’s music, and now, one of those featured tracks is making a major impact.

“Unpretty,” a genre-blending deep cut from Beautifully Broken, debuts this week at No. 8 on Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales chart, giving Jelly Roll his fourteenth career top 10 on that ranking. Though not officially released as a single, the song’s emotional resonance — amplified by the chemistry between Roberts and Jelly Roll — struck a chord with viewers and listeners alike.

The track also makes its debut on the Country Digital Song Sales chart, landing at No. 12 — a more competitive space this week, but still a strong entry. With this, Jelly Roll scores his twenty-third appearance on the country chart, further cementing his status as a dominant force in both rock and country music.

While “Unpretty” made an impressive debut, it wasn’t the only highlight of the Idol performance. The duo also performed “Liar,” a standout single from Beautifully Broken that was originally released in the summer of 2024. That song has now re-entered the Country Digital Song Sales chart at No. 3 and climbed to No. 2 on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, demonstrating its staying power nearly a year after its release.

The Billboard success doesn’t stop with Jelly Roll. Roberts’ appearance on the track — and the surrounding buzz — comes as the newly crowned American Idol champion celebrates his own chart victories. Meanwhile, runner-up John Foster is also enjoying a moment, debuting at No. 2 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart with his original track, “Tell That Angel I Love Her,” just behind chart veterans like Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae.

Even without being pushed as a formal single, “Unpretty” has proven its strength across genres. On the rock side, it trails only Falling in Reverse’s “God Is a Weapon” and Linkin Park’s “Let You Fade.” In country, it holds its own alongside rising stars and seasoned hitmakers.

With “Liar” soaring back up the charts and a high-profile collaboration with Roberts brewing, Jelly Roll’s run shows no signs of slowing — a testament to his authenticity, versatility, and continued connection with fans across the musical spectrum.
