The Voice Season 30 is giving fans an important opportunity to influence the competition as its first-ever Cut Week introduces one of the biggest elimination rounds in the show’s history. With 28 contestants competing for just 13 places in the Live Shows, viewers will have the chance to save one additional artist after coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Riley Green, and Queen Latifah make their selections. However, the voting process includes new methods, eligibility requirements, and strict deadlines that supporters need to understand.
Cut Week airs Monday, November 2, beginning at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC. During the special two-hour episode, each coach must select two contestants to advance automatically before the remaining five artists on their team perform for one final guaranteed position. Once all four coaches complete their decisions, 12 singers will have secured places in the Live Shows, leaving one additional position to be determined by America’s vote.
The new format means 15 contestants will be eliminated before the live competition begins. However, the public vote offers one final opportunity for an artist who was not selected by their coach. The contestant receiving the most eligible votes will advance as the 13th member of the Live Shows, giving one team an additional representative in the next stage of the competition.
For Season 30, The Voice has introduced text-message and TikTok voting, allowing eligible viewers to participate through two different methods. Fans can submit their selections by sending a text message or commenting on the designated voting post on the show’s official TikTok account. Both methods require supporters to follow the announced instructions carefully because incorrectly formatted votes or submissions made outside the permitted voting period may not count.
To participate through text messaging, eligible viewers must send their chosen artist’s correctly spelled name or official voting keyword to 22854. Each message must contain only one contestant’s name or keyword. Viewers may support multiple eligible artists by sending separate messages, but only one vote per artist is permitted through the text-message method. Standard messaging and data charges may apply depending on the mobile carrier.

TikTok voting follows a similar process. Eligible participants must visit the official The Voice TikTok account and locate the designated voting post during the active voting window. They can then leave a comment containing the correctly spelled name or official keyword of the contestant they wish to support. Each valid comment counts as one vote, and supporters wishing to vote for different artists must submit separate comments containing one name each.
There are also important eligibility restrictions. Text-message voting is available to participants aged 18 or older who are located in the United States and use a participating mobile carrier. TikTok voting requires participants to be at least 18 years old, have a public TikTok account, and be located in the United States or its territories. Viewers outside the eligible regions cannot submit valid votes through these methods, even if they follow the competition internationally.
The Cut Week voting window officially opens Monday, November 2, at 10:55 p.m. Eastern Time, equivalent to 7:55 p.m. Pacific Time. Voting remains open until Tuesday, November 3, at 3 a.m. Eastern Time. This gives eligible viewers approximately four hours to help determine which remaining contestant receives the final position in the Live Shows. Votes submitted before the window opens or after it closes will not be counted.
Once the Live Shows begin on November 9, the voting schedule will change again. Voting is scheduled to open at 9 p.m. Eastern Time during each live episode and remain available until five minutes after the final performance. The remaining voting dates are November 9, November 16, November 23, November 30, December 7, and December 14. Unlike previous seasons, results will be announced during the same broadcast, meaning viewers will no longer have to wait for a separate elimination episode.
The Voice Season 30’s new voting system arrives alongside a permanent move to Monday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. Episodes will continue on NBC, with next-day streaming available through Peacock, while the season concludes with its live finale on December 14. With 15 contestants facing elimination during Cut Week and only one additional place available through America’s vote, the new rules make timing, eligibility, and correct voting instructions especially important as the competition prepares to reveal its Top 13.
