On his first big appearance since the finale, the 27-year-old father of three took the stage on Good Morning America to perform his powerful debut single, “HEAL.” With the same smooth vocals and raw emotion that captivated millions during the finale, Roberts delivered a performance that confirmed what America already knew: this man was born to be a star.
During Sunday’s emotional finale, Roberts stole hearts with a soul-stirring version of Tom Odell’s “Heal,” rising above an incredibly talented top 24 to claim the Idol title. Finishing close behind was 18-year-old country crooner John Foster from Addis, Louisiana, with Texas powerhouse Breanna Nix taking third.
