Just days after the American Idol Season 23 finale, runner-up John Foster and third-place finalist Breanna Nix are already making waves in the country music world — both set to make their debut performances at the Grand Ole Opry, one of the most revered stages in country music history.

John Foster: From Idol Runner-Up to Living His Country Music Dream

John Foster, who stunned fans with his heartfelt finale performance of “Tell That Angel I Love Her,” announced his Grand Ole Opry debut for June 7, joining a lineup that includes legends like Bill Anderson, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Mark Wills.

“The first time I came to the Grand Ole Opry, I fought back tears because I was so overwhelmed with joy,” John wrote on Instagram. “As an amateur country music historian, there is no place more meaningful to me than the Opry. This has been my number one dream since I started music.”

Foster, 19, also made his first post-Idol appearance at the Cajun Country Jam over Memorial Day Weekend, where fans welcomed him like a seasoned star. He’s currently working behind the scenes to secure management and prepare for a series of upcoming performances, including a much-anticipated Nashville concert alongside fellow Idol finalists.

“Being runner-up is just the first step in what God has planned for me,” John shared. “I once felt like I’d never be good enough, but I’ve proven myself wrong.”

Breanna Nix: A Country Star on the Rise

Texas native and mom of two Breanna Nix will grace the Opry stage on June 5, marking another high point in her already impressive post-Idol momentum. Her debut comes as part of the Grand Ole Opry’s 100th anniversary celebration, where she’ll share the spotlight with Steven Curtis Chapman, Sara Evans, and Brandon Lake — the fellow Christian artist who also appeared on American Idol this season.

“It feels surreal to finally check this off my bucket list,” Breanna wrote on social media. “I’m so grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to step into that circle.”

Her debut single, “Higher,” shot to No. 1 on the iTunes Country chart shortly after the Idol finale, proving that the 25-year-old singer doesn’t need a title to make an impact. Breanna will also take part in the 19 Recordings CMA Fest Showcase in Nashville alongside top Idol finalists like Thunderstorm Artis, Gabby Samone, Kolbi Jordan, and John Foster.

Two Rising Stars, One Shared Destiny

Both John and Breanna are quickly becoming fan favorites not just for their voices, but for their stories — marked by humility, perseverance, and a deep-rooted love for country music.

As their Grand Ole Opry debuts draw near, the excitement is palpable, and the message is clear: American Idol may have ended, but their real journeys are just beginning.
