Just days before the world lost the legendary Ozzy Osbourne, his daughter Kelly captured a moment so simple, yet so deeply moving—it now echoes with heartbreaking clarity.
In a short video posted to her Instagram Stories on July 20, Kelly shared what seemed like a normal morning at the family dining table. Her 2-year-old son Sidney, whom she shares with partner Sid Wilson, sat nearby. She smiled into the camera and said, “Good morning!”
Then, she turned it toward her father.
Clad in a black T-shirt and wearing headphones, the Prince of Darkness himself looked up and replied enthusiastically, “Good morning!”

No one knew it at the time, but that joyful, ordinary exchange would be the last public footage of Ozzy Osbourne—shared just two days before his death.
A Private Battle, A Public Legacy
Ozzy’s passing on July 22 came after a long, grueling battle with Parkinson’s disease. Though his health had visibly declined, he remained surrounded by family, love, and the unshakeable bond of those closest to him.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the family said in a statement. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
Ozzy, who was 76, had continued to hold onto plans and dreams—right up until the end. His sisters Jean Powell and Gillian Hemming, who attended Black Sabbath’s farewell concert at Villa Park on July 5, later shared just how determined their brother remained.
“It was upsetting because he could not stand up straight,” Jean said in an interview with The Mirror. “But he was still our John, still cracking the jokes. He was frail, but it still came as a shock. He still had plans and things he wanted to do.”

A World in Mourning
To the world, he was Ozzy Osbourne—the godfather of heavy metal, the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath, the unforgettable reality TV dad. But to his sisters? He was just John. That contrast only deepened the emotional flood of tributes that poured in after news of his death broke.
From fellow rock legends to Hollywood stars, the loss of Ozzy resonated far beyond music:
- Elton John called him “a dear friend and a huge trailblazer… one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.”
- Metallica posted a heart-wrenching throwback photo with just a broken heart emoji.
