MAURA HIGGINS & MARK BALLAS STUN THE JUDGES — Their Week 3 Quickstep Wins Huge Praise, but the Scores Leave Viewers Wanting More

Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas delivered another major moment on Dancing with the Stars during Week 3, taking on a fast-paced Quickstep that showed just how much Maura has developed since entering the ballroom.

The pair performed during Yacht Rock Night, where Maura faced one of her quickest and most technically demanding routines of the season so far.

Quickstep requires constant movement, clean footwork and strong control while maintaining the appearance that everything is effortless — something that can be especially difficult for a celebrity still learning ballroom technique.

But once Maura and Mark started moving across the floor, the energy of the routine immediately caught attention.

Maura appeared increasingly confident beside Mark, keeping up with choreography that required her to move quickly while maintaining the posture and connection expected from the dance.

The transformation has been noticeable considering where Maura started only a few weeks earlier.

During the premiere, Maura surprised viewers by emerging as one of the stronger celebrities in the female lineup, immediately raising expectations for what she could accomplish with Mark.

She continued building on that momentum during Week 2, when their Cha-Cha became another well-received performance and kept them near the stronger end of the competition.

Week 3 offered a completely different challenge.

Rather than relying primarily on personality or chemistry, the Quickstep demanded sharper technique and constant coordination between the partners, leaving very little room to recover from mistakes.

Mark once again created choreography designed to challenge Maura while still allowing her personality to come through.

The judges appeared impressed by what the pair accomplished, particularly the energy Maura maintained throughout such a demanding routine.

For viewers, however, the most interesting part came when the scores were revealed.

After the enthusiastic response to the performance, some fans felt the numbers didn’t fully reflect how strong the routine had looked on the ballroom floor.

That reaction has become part of Maura’s growing storyline this season. Each week, expectations surrounding her seem to rise as she shows more confidence and takes on increasingly difficult choreography.

Whether or not the judges’ scores matched what every viewer expected, Maura and Mark once again showed why they have become one of the partnerships people are watching closely. If Maura continues improving at this pace, Week 3 may ultimately be remembered as the night she proved she could handle much more than anyone initially expected.
