Royal Fans React to Prince William and Princess Catherine’s Move from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge

Prince William and Princess Catherine are preparing to leave Adelaide Cottage after three years, and royal fans have been quick to share their thoughts on the move. Reports indicate that the family will relocate to Forest Lodge, formerly known as Holly Grove, nestled in Windsor Great Park, Berkshire. Kensington Palace confirmed the news, stating that the Wales family will take up residence later this year.

Many supporters have expressed excitement and admiration for the new home. One fan wrote, “Congratulations to the Prince and Princess of Wales on a beautiful new home! Their children are growing up, and this looks like the perfect place to live. England is fortunate to have the Wales family representing them — class and elegance.” Another commented, “What a lovely home for such a lovely family, inside and out. I wish the Wales family the best for their next chapter at Forest Lodge. These pictures will be treasured memories for the children to cherish forever.”

Others highlighted the move as a fresh start for the family, following a challenging period that included Kate’s cancer treatment and the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. The decision to relocate comes after the family outgrew the four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage, which they moved into in August 2022 to be close to their children’s school, Lambrook. Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom Georgian residence, will provide ample space while allowing the family to maintain a hands-on, staff-free household. The move is privately funded, with the family paying market rent.

However, not all reactions have been positive. Some critics questioned the optics of relocating to a larger home amid economic challenges in the UK. One fan remarked, “What about William’s commitment to the homeless? Meanwhile, he moves from villa to castle, enjoying luxury holidays while many face economic hardships.” Another expressed skepticism about the necessity of the move, adding, “I am a monarchist, but I don’t see why they should move into a property that may never be fully used, especially when they will eventually move again.”

The move to Forest Lodge marks a significant step in the Wales family’s journey, providing them with both space and privacy as they continue to balance royal duties with family life. With fans both celebrating and critiquing the decision, the relocation reflects the ongoing public interest in how modern royals navigate tradition, family, and personal priorities.
