She didn’t win Idol, but Breanna Nix just got the invite of a lifetime: Grand Ole Opry debut

Breanna Nix is trading the American Idol stage for one of country music’s most iconic spots — the Grand Ole Opry!

After capturing hearts across America during American Idol Season 23, the beloved stay-at-home mom and vocal powerhouse is set to step into the legendary Opry circle on June 5, 2025, marking a major milestone in her budding country career.

From ‘Idol’ Favorite to Country Music’s Newest Rising Star

Breanna first won over viewers — and the judges — during her emotional audition performance of Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus, Take the Wheel.” In one of the season’s most touching moments, Carrie herself, serving as a guest judge, held Breanna’s sleepy son while the Georgia native poured her heart into the song.

Throughout the season, Breanna stayed true to her faith-filled roots, delivering soul-stirring performances of “Still Rolling Stones,” “Something in the Water,” and “Up to the Mountain.” Her ability to connect deeply with both the lyrics and her audience earned her a place in the finale alongside John Foster and eventual winner Jamal Roberts.

Though she finished third overall, Breanna left the competition with a strong fanbase — affectionately dubbed “Nix Nation” — and a clear path forward in the music world.

“This Is Just the Beginning”

After the finale, Breanna shared an emotional thank-you with her supporters on social media:

“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and so excited for what’s next. I can’t wait to share more music and grow with you — this is just the beginning.”

And she wasn’t kidding.

Her debut single, “Higher,” soared to the top of the iTunes Country chart, holding the #1 spot and remaining in the Top 10 since its release. The uplifting anthem blends country soul with a gospel influence, a hallmark of Breanna’s musical style.

Dream Come True: Grand Ole Opry Debut

On May 22, Breanna announced the next major step in her journey — an invitation to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.

“I’m beyond overjoyed to announce that I’ll be performing at the @opry on June 5th, 2025! This moment has been on my bucket list for years, and getting to finally check it off feels surreal.”

The June 5 lineup is stacked with talent, including:

  • Steven Curtis Chapman (Opry member and Christian music legend)
  • Kameron Marlowe (Opry NextStage artist)
  • Brandon Lake (worship leader and rising Christian artist)

Given their chemistry on the Idol stage, fans are hopeful that Breanna and Brandon will reunite for a duet. The two performed Brandon’s touching song “Daddy’s DNA” during the Idol finale, a performance that many called one of the night’s highlights.

Nix Nation’s Reaction

Fans flooded Breanna’s announcement post with joy and support:

“Jesus is ordering your steps!! This is so well deserved!!”

“I already have tickets — now I’m even more excited!”

“Congrats Breanna!!! One of the biggest dreams of any country musician — and I just know you’ll nail it!!”
