‘THE VOICE’ FANS BEG FOR BELOVED FEATURE TO RETURN AFTER SEASON 30 QUIETLY REMOVES IT

The Voice Season 30 has introduced plenty of changes, but one missing feature is leaving some longtime viewers surprisingly disappointed.

As Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Riley Green and Queen Latifah continue building their teams during the Blind Auditions, fans have noticed that the official Voice app is no longer available.

For years, the standalone app gave viewers a way to participate in the competition while watching from home.

During the Blind Auditions, fans could essentially become virtual coaches, pressing their own buttons for contestants they liked and building fantasy teams alongside the real coaches.

The interactive experience continued into later rounds.

Viewers could predict winners during the Battles and Knockouts, answer trivia questions, participate in polls, earn points and compare their fantasy teams with other fans.

The app also featured contestant profiles, performances and other digital content connected to the show.

But when Season 30 arrived, the app was gone.

The Android version was removed from Google Play earlier in 2026, and reports ahead of the Season 30 premiere confirmed that the standalone app would no longer be available for the new season.

Even viewers who had previously downloaded it have reported that they cannot use it to play along with Season 30.

The disappearance has caught some longtime viewers off guard because NBC’s older online pages still describe the app and the features it previously offered.

NBC has not publicly announced a specific reason for discontinuing it.

That lack of explanation has only added to the frustration.

Fans have taken to social media asking for the app to return, with some saying the interactive experience had become part of their regular Voice viewing routine.

Others have said that simply watching the Blind Auditions feels different without being able to press their own virtual button and compare their choices with Kelly, Adam, Riley and Queen.

One frustrated viewer wrote that they hated seeing the app disappear, while another made the request much more direct: bring it back so fans can play along again.

Some viewers have even said that the loss of the app has made the program less enjoyable for them because the fantasy-team feature gave them another reason to remain invested in contestants throughout the season.

The decision is particularly interesting because Season 30 is actually giving viewers more influence once the competition reaches the Live Shows.

NBC has confirmed that six weeks of live competition are returning, with episodes simulcast on NBC and Peacock across all U.S. time zones.

Voting is also changing.

Instead of relying on the old app-based system, Season 30 will allow viewers to vote through SMS and TikTok, with results revealed during the same night.

The season has introduced several other major changes as well, including the new First In Button during the Blind Auditions and the upcoming Cut Week, which will dramatically reduce each coach’s team before the Live Shows.

But despite all those new ideas, some viewers find themselves asking for something familiar.

The Voice Official App turned watching the competition into something closer to participating in it.

And judging by the reaction to its disappearance, removing that experience may have revealed just how much some fans valued it.

For now, there has been no official announcement that The Voice app will return.

So while Season 30 continues introducing new ways for fans to vote, longtime viewers who loved building fantasy teams and pretending to sit in the coaches’ chairs are still hoping one old feature eventually makes a comeback.
