Ferryn and Brinkley Wright arrived on “The Voice” Season 30 with years of experience singing together, but their Blind Audition introduced the sisters to a much bigger audience. Their performance of Linda Ronstadt’s “When Will I Be Loved” earned all four chair turns, making them the first four-chair act of the season.
The sisters come from Sevierville, Tennessee, the same East Tennessee community closely associated with Dolly Parton. Ferryn is 20, while Brinkley is now 18 and was 17 when their Blind Audition was filmed.
Long before “The Voice,” music was already a major part of their lives. The sisters grew up singing together, and their father even built them a small stage at home where they could perform with a karaoke machine. Brinkley recalled that they essentially grew up pretending they were contestants on “The Voice.”
Their connection to Dolly Parton goes much deeper than simply sharing her hometown. Ferryn and Brinkley became full-time performers at Dollywood, where years of performing together helped them develop the close sister harmonies that eventually caught the Coaches’ attention.
They have also experienced some unforgettable moments connected to Parton. Ferryn previously had an opportunity to sing onstage with Dolly, while both sisters participated in a Dollywood parade connected with the country icon. Ferryn has also portrayed Dolly in Dollywood’s “From the Heart” show.
“The Voice” wasn’t even their first experience with a major television singing competition. In 2025, Ferryn and Brinkley auditioned for Season 23 of “American Idol.” Because the competition didn’t accept them as a duo, the sisters auditioned individually—and both received Golden Tickets to Hollywood, although their auditions weren’t televised.
The sisters have also begun releasing music of their own. Their debut single, “Wrong Girl,” arrived in late August 2026. They co-wrote the song with Adam Wheeler and former “American Idol” contestant Janelle Arthur, who also produced it.
Their years of performing together became obvious during their “Voice” audition. Kelly Clarkson and Queen Latifah turned first after recognizing the harmonies, with Adam Levine and Riley Green eventually following and completing the season’s first four-chair turn.
Queen praised the sweetness of their vocals and the energy between them, while Adam focused on the natural chemistry the sisters displayed together. Kelly had an especially relevant argument: she previously coached sibling trio Girl Named Tom to victory on Season 21.
But Riley made his pitch around the sound that had shaped Ferryn and Brinkley. He told them their performance transported him back to hearing the country music his grandparents loved and praised the sisters for bringing an old-school country sound that he believes is making a comeback.
Riley also pointed to his experience working with artists such as Ella Langley as he tried to convince the duo that he understood how to develop their style. His argument ultimately worked: despite having every Coach available, Ferryn and Brinkley chose Team Riley.
Their “Voice” breakthrough therefore didn’t happen overnight. Ferryn and Brinkley went from performing together as children, to Dollywood stages, two “American Idol” Golden Tickets and their first original release before finally getting the chance to compete together on national television.
