Isabella Juliet walked onto The Voice stage hoping one coach would turn around.
Instead, the 17-year-old left without a place on any team — but with a moment involving Riley Green that may have been even more unforgettable.
Isabella performed Lainey Wilson’s “Things a Man Oughta Know” during the final stretch of the Season 30 Blind Auditions.
Along with singing, she accompanied herself on acoustic guitar despite having lost one of her hands following an amputation during childhood.
Her country voice immediately seemed like the kind of performance that might attract Riley.
But the coaches were becoming increasingly selective as their teams filled, and Isabella reached the end of the song without a single chair turn.
Riley quickly made it clear that the decision had been extremely close.

He praised Isabella’s voice and told her the performance felt believable — something he considers especially important when singing country music.
“It was really close for me,” Riley told her, admitting that choosing not to turn had been difficult.
Adam Levine believed nerves had played the biggest role.
He told Isabella that she had a beautiful voice but encouraged her not to become so worried about mistakes when performing on a stage that large.
For most contestants, that would have been the end of the audition.
But then Riley revealed something Isabella wasn’t expecting.
Before appearing on The Voice, Isabella had been posting videos of herself singing online — including covers of Riley’s music.
Riley told her he had actually seen one of those videos before.
Even more surprisingly, he remembered her performance of his song “Don’t Mind If I Do” and had liked what he heard.
That revelation completely changed the mood in the room.
Riley then got out of his chair, walked onto the stage and asked Isabella to sing the song with him.
A guitar was brought out for Riley, and the two began performing “Don’t Mind If I Do” together.
Within moments, Isabella appeared noticeably more comfortable.
The audience clapped along while Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Queen Latifah watched from their chairs as Riley transformed what could have been a disappointing ending into a special duet.
Viewers noticed the change too.
Several fans later commented that Isabella seemed far more relaxed during the duet and that her voice became clearer once the pressure of earning a chair turn was gone.
That made the moment particularly bittersweet.
Isabella had clearly been nervous during the audition that determined whether she would remain in the competition.
But once she knew the result and began singing beside Riley, viewers got another glimpse of what she could do without that pressure.
She still didn’t leave with a spot on Team Riley.
She won’t advance with the 48 singers who made it through the Blind Auditions.
But Riley made sure Isabella didn’t simply walk away remembering four chairs that never turned.
Instead, she left The Voice having sung one of Riley Green’s own songs with Riley Green himself — after discovering that the country star had already noticed her talent before she ever stepped onto the famous stage.
For a singer whose audition appeared to be ending in disappointment, it became one of the most unexpected send-offs of the Blind Auditions.
