Chari stepped onto The Voice stage as a 31-year-old surgical technologist hoping for one chair turn. Instead, her emotional Blind Audition quickly turned into one of the biggest coach battles of Season 30.
For her audition, Chari performed Oleta Adams’ “Get Here,” a song carrying an especially personal connection to her family.
Her father had introduced her to the song, while it was also one of the last songs her mother heard her sing, giving Chari an emotional reason for choosing it beyond simply showing what her voice could do.
Once she started singing, the coaches didn’t need much time to recognize what was happening.
Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah and Riley Green all turned their chairs, giving Chari the coveted four-chair turn.
Adam’s reaction was particularly memorable. He stood during the performance and remained standing afterward, making it clear that he considered Chari’s audition something special.
When the coaches began making their pitches, Adam went even further.
He told Chari that after spending so many years on The Voice, he had learned to recognize a certain quality in contestants who have the potential to go extremely far.
Then he made his biggest statement of the night: he believed Chari had that quality and could potentially win the entire competition.

But Adam wasn’t alone in being impressed.
Riley praised the power Chari had brought into the room, while Kelly emphasized how perfectly a singer like Chari fit what The Voice was designed to discover.
Then Queen Latifah delivered perhaps the most memorable pitch of all.
Playing off Chari’s career as a surgical technologist, Queen praised the “surgical precision” of her performance and the way she had taken such a respected song and made it feel personal.
Queen also explained that Chari represented exactly the kind of artist she had hoped to discover when she agreed to become a coach.
With four superstar coaches trying to win her over — and Adam essentially predicting she could become the season’s champion — Chari faced an extremely difficult decision.
In the end, she chose Queen Latifah, giving Team Queen another major addition and leaving Adam without the singer he had just praised so highly.
Whether Adam’s prediction ultimately proves correct remains to be seen, but Chari’s Blind Audition accomplished something very few contestants manage: she turned every chair, inspired one coach to make an early winning prediction, and immediately became one of the Season 30 singers viewers are watching most closely.
