Is The Voice on Tonight? Season 30 Returns With Historic Cut Week as 28 Singers Fight for Just 13 Live Show Spots

The Voice Season 30 returns tonight, Monday, November 2, with one of the biggest turning points in the competition’s history. The NBC singing competition is introducing its first-ever Cut Week, an intense elimination round that will reduce 28 remaining contestants to just 13. Coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green must make some of their toughest decisions yet as their teams compete for a limited number of positions in the Live Shows.

Tonight’s episode will air from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC, marking a significant change from the show’s previous 8 p.m. start. The two-hour broadcast will feature the new Cut Week format, with viewers discovering which artists advance and which contestants must leave the competition. For those unable to watch the original television broadcast, the episode will become available on Peacock the following day.

The schedule adjustment comes as NBC reorganizes its programming to accommodate the return of NBA basketball coverage. Beginning October 19, The Voice moved to a Monday-only schedule, ending its earlier pattern of airing episodes on both Mondays and Tuesdays. The competition will now remain exclusively on Monday nights for the rest of Season 30, including the highly anticipated December finale.

However, the biggest development tonight involves the new elimination process. Following the conclusion of the Battle Rounds on October 26, each coach has seven contestants remaining. These teams include six Battle Round winners and one stolen artist, bringing the total number of competitors to 28. By the end of Cut Week, 15 contestants will be eliminated, creating the official lineup for the upcoming Live Shows.

Under the new rules, each coach will first select two contestants to advance automatically based on their performances throughout the season. The remaining five singers on each team will then compete for one additional position. After hearing their performances, the coaches will each choose one more artist, bringing the total number of advancing contestants to 12. America will then have an opportunity to save one additional singer, completing the official Top 13.

Team Riley Green enters the episode with several talented country performers, including Joe Henley, Cade Mower, Everett Bounds, Keiyana Osmond, Allie Rae, and sisters Ferryn and Brinkley Wright. Kayleigh Mathews, who joined the team through a steal during the Battle Rounds, completes the lineup. Henley has already attracted considerable attention after his rendition of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes” earned a standing ovation from all four coaches, making Green’s upcoming decisions particularly interesting.

Queen Latifah also faces challenging selections with a team consisting of Alt Bloom, Lillie Kolich, Bigcountry, Chari, Bryan Jaymes, Mia Knight, and stolen contestant Destinee Monroe. Several of these artists have demonstrated distinctive musical styles throughout the competition, giving the rookie coach a difficult task as she decides which performers best represent her team heading into the Live Shows.

Adam Levine’s remaining contestants include Connor Closs, Evan James, Brandon Diaz, Owen Uffens, Amanda Mikkel, Lexi Stephens, and Dakota Cohen. Brandon joined through a steal, while several other artists earned their positions through memorable Battle Round performances. Meanwhile, Team Kelly Clarkson includes Koumba Diallo, Anna McElroy, Nina Howland, Marcus Ladden Jr., Kyle Davis, Brianna Cameron, and 14-year-old Brooklyn Marie, whose recent performances have generated considerable discussion among viewers.

Once Cut Week concludes, the Live Shows will begin Monday, November 9, airing from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time. Additional episodes are scheduled for November 16, November 23, November 30, and December 7, with the season finale taking place December 14. Most remaining episodes will last one hour, while tonight’s Cut Week and the finale will feature extended two-hour broadcasts.

Season 30 will also introduce another important change during the Live Shows, with voting and elimination results taking place during the same broadcast rather than on separate nights. This means fans will need to follow the announced voting windows carefully to support their favorite contestants. With 15 singers facing elimination tonight and the competition entering its final stages, Cut Week promises to reshape all four teams and reveal which performers remain in contention for the Season 30 championship.
