John Foster, an American Idol Top 10 contestant, took to Facebook to address several pieces of misinformation circulating about him. In a heartfelt post, he clarified that he is actually 18 years old, not 24, and proudly hails from Addis, Louisiana, not Benton, Kentucky. He also pointed out that he has never been to Kentucky, although he plans to visit someday.

Foster also cleared up rumors about his relationship with country icon Dwight Yoakam, explaining that he is not related to him and is not signed to Sugar Hill Records or any other label. He encouraged his fans to reach out directly to him for any questions and reminded them not to trust information that doesn’t come from his official page, marked with a blue checkmark.

John Foster became known to viewers when he auditioned with a medley of classic country songs, including “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” by George Jones and “Goodbye Time” by Conway Twitty. His performances, such as “In Color” by Jamey Johnson, Garth Brooks’ “Callin’ Baton Rouge,” and Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Moon,” have continued to captivate fans, along with his emotionally charged original song “Tell That Angel I Love Her.”

Foster recently advanced to the Top 12 with his energetic performance of Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock” and impressed further with a rendition of “I Told You So” by Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis, a moment that earned him praise from the judges and viewers alike. With his authenticity and growing fanbase, John Foster is proving he has what it takes to go far in the competition.

Fans can watch Foster in action during the “Ladies’ Night” themed performance on Sunday, May 4, when the remaining contestants pay tribute to iconic women in music. Voting will determine who moves on to the Top 8, taking one step closer to becoming the next American Idol.
