It didn’t take long for fans to notice their dynamic. As the Blind Auditions began, viewers started sharing reactions online about the way Clarkson and Green joke, compete and interact with each other.
Some fans have even started playfully “shipping” the two singers. One viewer compared a promotional picture of Clarkson and Green to the kind of power-couple photo associated with country stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
Another viewer joked that they were watching “The Voice” for the “plot”—with that plot apparently being Clarkson and Green. Others have similarly commented on Green’s appearance while suggesting the two Coaches would make an interesting pair.
The reaction has reminded some longtime viewers of another famous relationship that developed around “The Voice”: Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. They first became close while serving as Coaches before their friendship eventually developed into a relationship and later marriage.
However, there is an important difference between fan speculation and reality. There has been no confirmation that Clarkson and Green are dating or romantically involved. At this point, viewers are simply reacting to the chemistry they see on television.
