Witney Carson is making it clear that she doesn’t want anyone feeling sorry for her after revealing that she and husband Carson McAllister are expecting their third baby boy. The “Dancing With the Stars” pro addressed the reaction directly after some people assumed she must have been hoping for a daughter.
Witney and Carson, who have been married since 2016, are already parents to two sons, Leo, 5, and Jet, 3. Their third child will now add another little boy to the family.
The couple shared the news in a sweet family gender reveal on September 21. Standing together on a dock, Witney and her husband turned their backs while Leo and Jet discovered whether they were getting a baby brother or sister.
Leo eventually presented his parents with blue flowers, revealing another boy was on the way. Jet made the moment even funnier by grabbing the pink flowers too, briefly creating some adorable confusion before Witney confirmed the news.
Witney immediately made her feelings clear, saying the family “couldn’t be happier” about having another boy. She described herself as loving being a “boy mom” and said raising her children is her greatest honor.
However, not everyone simply celebrated with her. After the reveal, Witney began receiving comments from people expressing sympathy because she wasn’t having a daughter. That prompted her to address an assumption she clearly didn’t agree with.
“There is truly no disappointment here,” Witney wrote, explaining that she feels grateful and excited to become the mother of three boys. She added that she believes this little boy is exactly what her family needs.
Her message quickly resonated with other mothers of boys. Several responded with their own experiences of receiving similar comments, arguing that having a family of sons shouldn’t automatically be treated as though the mother is missing something.
The pregnancy is also making Witney’s current “DWTS” season particularly unusual. She announced in August that she was expecting her third child and entered Season 35 approximately four months pregnant.
Witney admitted before the season that competing while this far along in pregnancy felt daunting. She has also spoken about dealing with nausea and the vulnerability of having her changing body seen and discussed publicly while she continues performing.
Despite those challenges, Witney chose to return to the ballroom and is competing alongside Guillermo Rodriguez. The reigning champion has made it clear that pregnancy hasn’t taken away her competitive side, joking before the season that she and Guillermo still want to win.
For Witney, though, the bigger message following her gender reveal has nothing to do with trophies. She isn’t disappointed that she won’t be welcoming a daughter—she’s celebrating the chance to raise another son. And after strangers began feeling “sorry” for her, the mother of soon-to-be three boys wanted to make one thing unmistakably clear: she feels blessed, grateful and excited for the family she has.
