Terri Clark is revisiting her roots—and she’s not doing it alone. With her upcoming album Terri Clark: Take Two, the Canadian country icon is reimagining eight of her biggest hits as duets, teaming up with a powerhouse lineup of today’s country and pop stars. Set for release on May 31 via Mercury Nashville/UMG, the album promises a bold blend of nostalgia and fresh energy.
Every song on Take Two originally soared into the Top 10 on the country charts during Clark’s heyday. Now, these classics are getting a second life with a little help from her friends—Lauren Alaina, Paul Brandt, Kelly Clarkson, Cody Johnson, Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce, Ben Rector, and Lainey Wilson all lend their voices to the project.
“This project brought up so much nostalgia for me,” Clark said. “Getting to sing these songs with some of the most incredible artists in the business has been humbling and surreal.”
But for Clark, the experience went far beyond the music. Between takes, she found herself trading stories, laughs, and memories with her collaborators—many of whom grew up listening to her songs.
“Some of them even told me they had posters of me on their walls,” she said, laughing. “They knew the lyrics better than I did! It was such a full-circle moment.”
Fans got their first taste of Take Two when Clark and Ashley McBryde released an updated version of “Better Things To Do” on March 29. The new rendition keeps the original’s fiery spirit intact while adding an extra edge with McBryde’s gritty vocals and a modernized production that doesn’t stray too far from the song’s ’90s roots.
As May 31 draws closer, anticipation is building—not just for the music, but for the celebration of a career that continues to inspire and evolve. With Take Two, Terri Clark isn’t just looking back—she’s inviting a new generation to join the ride.
