Isabella Juliet’s journey on The Voice Season 30 ended before she could join a team, but Riley Green made sure her Blind Audition didn’t end without a memorable moment.
Isabella stepped onto the stage during the final night of the Blind Auditions and performed Lainey Wilson’s “Things a Man Oughta Know,” accompanying herself on guitar as Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley listened from their chairs.
Her performance came at an especially difficult point in the competition.
The coaches’ teams were nearly full, meaning everyone had become much more selective about using the few remaining spots available.
Despite Isabella’s country sound and emotional delivery, the song came to an end without any of the four coaches pressing their buttons.
But Riley quickly made it clear that his decision had not been an easy one.
“You’ve got an awesome voice,” Riley told Isabella afterward, adding that her performance felt believable and that turning for her had been an extremely close decision.

Adam Levine also offered encouragement while explaining what may have prevented him from turning.
Adam believed nerves affected parts of the performance, but stressed that Isabella still had a beautiful voice and encouraged her not to let mistakes or anxiety control future performances.
Isabella’s story also made an impression beyond her vocals.
She has been missing one of her hands since childhood, yet confidently accompanied herself on guitar during her Blind Audition — something that added another layer to an already vulnerable performance.
And just when it appeared that Isabella would simply thank the coaches and leave, Riley got out of his chair.
The country singer walked onto the stage and joined Isabella for an impromptu duet, giving her the opportunity to perform alongside the very coach who had come close to turning for her.
The moment didn’t change the official result — Isabella still left without a place on one of the four teams — but it gave her Blind Audition a much warmer ending.
It also showed how close some decisions can become late in the Blind Auditions.
Earlier in the season, a performance like Isabella’s may have had a better chance of earning a chair, but with each coach racing to complete a 12-member team, available positions had become extremely limited.
Riley ultimately completed his team later in the episode with singers including Brendan Coulter and Brayden Howell before the competition immediately moved into the Battle Rounds.
For Isabella, there will be no Battle performance this season.
But hearing Riley admit how close he came to pressing his button — and then watching him walk onto the stage to sing with her anyway — gave the audition an ending that was about more than whether a red chair turned.
Sometimes the most memorable Voice moments happen even after all four chairs stay facing the stage.
