“The Voice” Season 30 delivered its first four-chair turn when sisters Ferryn and Brinkley Wright stepped onto the Blind Auditions stage. The young country duo from Sevierville, Tennessee, impressed Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green with their close family harmonies.
Ferryn, 20, and Brinkley, 17, performed Linda Ronstadt’s version of “When Will I Be Loved.” Almost immediately, Clarkson and Queen Latifah turned their chairs, recognizing the chemistry between the sisters before the performance had even finished.
Levine and Green eventually joined them, giving Ferryn and Brinkley all four chairs. Even more impressively, they were the only act during the Season 30 premiere night to receive a four-chair turn, making their audition one of the evening’s biggest moments.
But the sisters’ journey did not begin on “The Voice.” They grew up dreaming about the show together. Brinkley recalled that their father even built them a small stage when they were younger, where they would sing with a karaoke machine and pretend they were performing on the competition.
Years of performing eventually took them to one of Tennessee’s most famous musical destinations: Dollywood. Both sisters have worked as performers there, particularly around the DreamMore Resort and HeartSong Lodge, giving them valuable experience singing for live audiences.
Ferryn had an especially unusual role at the park. She portrayed a young Dolly Parton in Dollywood’s “From the Heart” production, giving her a direct connection to the story and musical legacy of the country icon she had admired.
The sisters also had the opportunity to meet Parton herself. Earlier this year, Ferryn and Brinkley were selected to walk ahead of the vehicle carrying Dolly during a Dollywood parade—an experience they later described as an “opportunity of a lifetime.”
That connection became even more meaningful following Parton’s death. The sisters honored her by performing “I Will Always Love You,” one of the songs most closely associated with her extraordinary career.
Back on “The Voice,” the four Coaches quickly began competing for the sisters. Queen Latifah praised the sweetness of their voices and the energy they created together, while Levine argued that choosing an unexpected Coach like him could help them develop in surprising directions.
Green focused on their traditional country sound. He said their performance reminded him of growing up around the country music his grandparents loved, and he believed the sisters possessed the old-school style that has been finding a new audience.
Clarkson had an especially strong argument: she reminded Ferryn and Brinkley that she previously became the only Coach to win “The Voice” with a group when Girl Named Tom captured Season 21. She also encouraged the sisters to take songs outside country music and transform them with their distinctive harmonies.
Ultimately, however, Ferryn and Brinkley chose Team Riley. Green celebrated landing the duo and said their harmony gives his team an advantage. For two sisters who once stood on a homemade stage pretending they were contestants on “The Voice,” earning four chair turns and choosing their Coach made that childhood game suddenly very real.
