The Voice Season 30 is preparing for one of its biggest shake-ups as Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green finalize their teams ahead of the competition’s first-ever Cut Week. Following weeks of memorable Blind Auditions, emotional Battle Rounds, and surprising Steals, 28 talented contestants remain in the competition. However, one coach has emerged with a particularly impressive advantage, holding more four-chair turn contestants than any other team heading into the highly anticipated elimination round.
The Battle Rounds officially concluded on October 26, leaving each coach with seven remaining artists. While the four teams appear evenly matched in numbers, their compositions reveal some interesting differences. Several contestants who earned four-chair turns during the Blind Auditions have survived, while others secured their places through dramatic Battle Round victories or last-minute Steals. With only 13 singers ultimately advancing to the Live Shows, the upcoming decisions will be especially difficult.
Kelly Clarkson enters Cut Week with Anna McElroy, Brianna Cameron, Brooklyn Marie, Koumba Diallo, Kyle Davis, Nina Howland, and Marcus Ladden Jr., whom she acquired through a Steal. Her lineup stands out because three contestants—Diallo, Davis, and Howland—earned four-chair turns during their Blind Auditions. That gives Clarkson the highest number of original four-chair turn artists among the four coaches, making her team particularly noteworthy as the competition approaches its next stage.
Clarkson’s team also features several contestants who delivered memorable Battle Round performances. Brooklyn Marie recently advanced after facing Kavi Nyx in a powerful rendition of David Guetta and Sia’s “Titanium,” while Marcus Ladden Jr. received another opportunity after Clarkson used her Steal. Although the team’s impressive Blind Audition record suggests considerable vocal strength, Clarkson must still make difficult choices when determining which singers are best prepared for the pressure of the Live Shows.
Adam Levine has also assembled a competitive lineup consisting of Amanda Mikkel, Connor Closs, Dakota Cohen, Evan James, Lexi Stephens, Owen Uffens, and stolen contestant Brandon Diaz. Two members of his team, Mikkel and Stephens, earned four-chair turns during the Blind Auditions. Stephens has attracted particular attention following her extraordinary Battle Round performance against Marilyn Hucek, which prompted Levine to suggest that she possesses the potential to become a finalist.
Queen Latifah enters the new round with Alt Bloom, Big Country, Bryan James, Chari, Lillie Kolich, Mia Knight, and Destinee Monroe, who joined her team through a dramatic Steal. Chari and Kolich both earned four-chair turns, while Knight recently delivered one of the season’s most memorable performances during her Battle against Sophia Liano. Their powerful rendition of “Never Enough” impressed all four coaches and even prompted Latifah to jokingly blame the singers for damaging a piece of her jewelry.
Rookie coach Riley Green has finalized his team with Allie Rae, Cade Mower, Everett Bounds, Ferryn and Brinkley Wright, Joe Henley, Keiyana Osmond, and Kayleigh Matthews, who joined through a Steal. Mower and the Wright sisters earned four-chair turns, while Matthews also received four chair turns during her original Blind Audition before eventually moving to Team Riley. This gives Green three four-chair turn acts when his stolen contestant is included, matching Clarkson’s total in that broader category.
The upcoming Cut Week introduces an entirely new challenge for the remaining contestants. Unlike previous seasons, the traditional Knockout and Playoff rounds have been replaced by a major elimination event. Each coach must first select two artists who will advance directly to the Live Shows without performing again. The remaining five contestants on each team must then compete for just one additional position, meaning only three singers from each team will initially survive.
After the coaches finalize their selections, 12 contestants will have secured places in the Live Shows. However, viewers will receive an opportunity to save one additional artist through a public vote, completing the season’s Top 13. This unusual twist means that 15 contestants will ultimately leave the competition during Cut Week, creating one of the largest elimination events in the show’s history. Even artists who received extraordinary praise during earlier rounds could find themselves facing an unexpected exit.
The Voice Season 30’s first-ever Cut Week is scheduled to air on Monday, November 2, from 9 to 11 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC, with streaming available the following day. As the competition moves toward the Live Shows, the pressure continues to increase for Clarkson, Levine, Latifah, and Green. Although Clarkson leads in original four-chair turn contestants and Green matches her when his Steal is counted, neither coach is guaranteed an advantage once the performances begin. With only 13 places available, the upcoming episode promises emotional decisions and significant changes to all four teams.
