‘The Voice’ Season 30 Premiere Breaks Huge Streaming Record as Riley Green Emerges as an Early Fan Favorite

The Voice is celebrating a major milestone just weeks into Season 30, with new viewing numbers showing that the show’s latest premiere didn’t simply bring viewers back — it set a new streaming record.

The Season 30 premiere reached approximately 7.8 million viewers during its first seven days of availability, combining traditional NBC viewing with streaming on Peacock.

That made it the show’s biggest premiere audience since Season 27 in spring 2025 and represented a 5 percent increase compared with the seven-day audience for the Season 28 premiere.

But the biggest achievement came from streaming.

When measured across its first three days of availability, the Season 30 premiere became the most-streamed episode in the history of The Voice.

The episode also grew 57 percent compared with the previous year during that same three-day viewing window, showing that a significant portion of the show’s audience is now watching beyond the traditional live broadcast.

NBCUniversal reported an even larger number when measuring overall reach.

More than 19 million people watched at least some portion of the premiere across platforms, while clips connected to the show generated hundreds of millions of video views across social media during the opening week.

Season 30 arrived with several major changes that may have helped create fresh interest around the long-running competition.

Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine returned to the red chairs, while country singer Riley Green and Queen Latifah joined the coaching panel for the first time.

The season also became the first NBC entertainment series to be simulcast on Peacock across all time zones, giving viewers another way to watch the competition as it airs.

But amid the impressive numbers, one of the biggest early talking points has been Riley Green.

The first-time coach entered the season without Adam and Kelly’s years of experience on the show, yet he quickly became one of the most discussed personalities on the coaching panel.

Fans have praised Riley’s relaxed personality, humor and chemistry with his fellow coaches, while contestants have repeatedly shown interest in joining his team.

Even Kelly quickly realized she had a serious new competitor sitting beside her.

During the premiere, she joked about Riley’s mustache and country-star appeal after watching several contestants respond enthusiastically to him.

Riley also scored several important victories during the Blind Auditions, including landing Alabama singer Joe Henley after his performance of Travis Tritt’s “Anymore.”

Joe’s audition became particularly memorable when Riley joined him onstage for an impromptu performance of “My Way.”

Kelly later made a huge prediction about Joe, telling Riley that the 19-year-old could potentially win The Voice for him.

Riley has continued building a strong team while also becoming increasingly comfortable with the playful competition between the four coaches.

Some viewers have already said they hope his television run continues beyond a single season, while others have suggested his personality could work in other entertainment projects as well.

Those comments remain fan speculation, and NBC has not announced Riley’s future beyond Season 30.

Still, the reaction illustrates how quickly the first-time coach has connected with part of the audience.

For a show entering its 30th season, breaking an all-time streaming record is already significant.

Doing it while introducing two new coaches and a series of format changes suggests The Voice may have found a combination capable of bringing fresh attention to a competition that has now been on television for more than 15 years.

And as the Blind Auditions approach their conclusion, the numbers suggest plenty of viewers will be watching to see whether Riley Green’s early popularity — and the singers he has assembled — can carry all the way through the Battles and beyond.
