INSTANT TURNS — Kavi Nyx Gets Every Available Coach to Turn Before Revealing Her Choice Was Already Made

Kavi Nyx needed only a few notes to get The Voice coaches reaching for their buttons.

The 17-year-old Atlanta singer stepped onto the Season 30 stage during the final Blind Auditions and performed Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower,” putting her own emotional and culturally influenced spin on one of Eilish’s most recognizable songs.

Almost immediately, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine turned their chairs.

Riley Green followed soon afterward, meaning Kavi had convinced every coach who still had an available spot to turn for her. Queen Latifah was unable to join the battle because her team had already been filled. (EntertainmentNow)

The speed of the reaction was impressive, but it was what Kavi did after the opening notes that really caught the coaches’ attention.

Kelly praised the deliberate choices Kavi made throughout the song, telling the teenager that the individuality in her performance could help separate her from other singers in the competition.

She also identified breath control as an area they could work on together if Kavi chose her team. (Spotlight Focus)

Adam was particularly interested in the unexpected musical elements Kavi added to the Billie Eilish hit.

During the conversation afterward, Kavi explained that she had incorporated influences from her Indian heritage into her interpretation.

Adam praised that decision, recognizing that she hadn’t simply copied the original recording but had found a way to make the song represent more of who she was as an artist.

Riley also made a passionate pitch.

He told Kavi that her performance contained some of the strongest vocal personality he had heard during the Blind Auditions, noting that even her quieter moments still felt significant.

With three coaches available and all three fighting for her, Kavi appeared to have a difficult decision ahead.

Except she didn’t.

When it was finally time to choose, Kavi admitted that she had essentially known what she wanted to do before she ever walked onto the stage.

“I think it was decided before I came on here for a while,” she told the coaches before announcing that she was joining Team Kelly.

Kavi had been a longtime Kelly Clarkson fan, making the chance to actually work with her especially meaningful.

The audition also introduced viewers to a young artist who has already been developing her own musical identity beyond The Voice.

Kavi describes herself as a singer, producer and dancer whose pop music incorporates raw emotion alongside influences from her Indian roots.

Earlier in 2026, she released her debut single “Speak Up,” inspired by her experiences of staying quiet to avoid conflict and her desire to encourage others to express themselves.

Her arrival came at a crucial moment in the competition as the coaches raced to claim the final singers needed to complete their 12-member teams.

And although Kavi wasn’t officially a four-chair turn because Queen could no longer press her button, the result was nearly as impressive: every coach who still had the ability to recruit her wanted her.

Now Kavi heads into the next stage on Team Kelly, where the teenager who knew her coach before the audition even began will have to prove that those almost-instant chair turns were only the beginning.
