Riley Green Reveals His Final Three on The Voice as Joe Henley Gains Attention After Dramatic Cut Week Performance

The Voice Season 30 has reached a major turning point, and rookie coach Riley Green has officially completed his team for the upcoming Live Shows. After an emotional Cut Week filled with difficult decisions and impressive performances, Green selected three acts to continue competing for the championship. However, it was 19-year-old country singer Joe Henley who attracted particular attention after delivering a performance that left all four coaches on their feet.

The November 2 episode introduced the competition’s first-ever Cut Week, replacing the traditional Knockout Rounds and Playoffs with a single high-pressure elimination round. Each coach began with seven remaining contestants and had to select two for automatic advancement. The other five then competed for just one final guaranteed position, making the episode one of the most demanding stages in the show’s history.

Green began by announcing Cade Mower as his first automatic selection. The 35-year-old singer from Bluffdale, Utah, had impressed the coach throughout the competition with his distinctive voice and country music style. Green explained that he felt a strong musical connection with Cade and believed he could help him continue developing as an artist.

For his second automatic selection, Green chose sister duo Ferryn and Brinkley Wright from Sevierville, Tennessee. The sisters had consistently impressed their coach with their harmonies and performances, earning enough confidence from Green to advance without singing again during Cut Week. Their selection left five talented contestants competing for the team’s final available position.

Those contestants were Allie Rae, Everett Bounds, Keiyana Osmond, Kayleigh Mathews, and Joe Henley. Each singer brought a different musical identity to the stage, giving Green an unusually difficult decision. Allie performed Lainey Wilson’s “4x4xU,” Everett selected Clint Black’s “Killin’ Time,” Keiyana sang “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” and Kayleigh performed Patsy Cline’s “Walkin’ After Midnight.”

Allie’s performance earned especially enthusiastic praise, with Green comparing the 15-year-old singer to a young Reba McEntire. Everett also impressed the coaches with his traditional country style, while Keiyana and Kayleigh demonstrated their own distinctive vocal qualities. As the performances continued, Green faced the challenge of choosing between artists who had each shown considerable potential.

However, Henley delivered one of the evening’s most memorable moments with his rendition of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.” The Alabama teenager combined a warm traditional country tone with emotional phrasing and confident delivery. His performance earned a standing ovation from all four coaches, creating an unforgettable conclusion to Team Riley’s Cut Week performances.

Kelly Clarkson was particularly impressed by Henley’s natural vocal ability and suggested that she would be surprised if he failed to reach the finale. Green also praised the young singer’s ability to interpret a demanding Keith Whitley song while maintaining his own musical identity. After considering the performances, the rookie coach ultimately selected Henley for the final guaranteed position on his team.

The decision confirmed that Cade Mower, Ferryn and Brinkley Wright, and Joe Henley would represent Team Riley in the Live Shows. Although the result meant Allie Rae, Everett Bounds, Keiyana Osmond, and Kayleigh Mathews missed automatic advancement, they remained eligible for the audience’s final wildcard vote. Meanwhile, Henley’s standout performance strengthened the growing excitement surrounding his potential in the competition.

With the Live Shows beginning November 9, Green now has three country-focused acts preparing to compete for America’s support. Henley enters the next stage with considerable momentum after receiving praise from the coaches and attracting attention from viewers who see him as a possible finalist. Although the competition remains wide open, his Cut Week performance has established him as one of the singers to watch as Season 30 moves closer to its December 14 finale.
