The Voice Season 30 has officially completed its Blind Auditions, but the competition is about to become much more difficult as Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Riley Green and Queen Latifah prepare their teams for the Battles.
All four coaches finished the Blind Auditions with 12 artists, meaning 48 acts earned places in the competition.
But that number is about to shrink dramatically.
During the Battle Rounds, each coach will pair members of their own team together and give them the same song to perform. After hearing the performance, the coach must choose which artist wins the Battle and continues in the competition.
Normally, that decision means the losing singer’s journey is over.
Season 30, however, gives those artists one potentially career-saving opportunity.
Each coach has one Steal to use during the Battles.

If another coach eliminates an artist, Kelly, Adam, Riley or Queen can press the Steal button and rescue that contestant, moving the singer onto their own team instead.
Because every coach gets only one Steal, deciding when to use it could become one of the most strategic decisions of the entire round.
A coach who uses the button early could rescue an impressive singer but lose the opportunity to save someone even stronger later.
The Battles also bring celebrity advisers into the rehearsal room.
Riley is working with country singer Carly Pearce, Kelly has Ariana DeBose, Queen Latifah is joined by Patti LaBelle, and Adam is working with Alex Warren as the contestants prepare for their head-to-head performances.
Viewers already received an early look at just how difficult the Battles can become when Riley paired Brandy Neelly against sister duo Ferryn & Brinkley Wright for Miranda Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart.”

After praising both acts, Riley ultimately chose Ferryn & Brinkley to advance, citing their unusually tight harmonies and the advantage of being the season’s only duo.
But even surviving the Battles will not guarantee anyone a place in the Live Shows.
That is because Season 30 introduces a completely new stage called Cut Week.
NBC has described it as the biggest elimination in The Voice history.
During Cut Week, each coach will have seven artists remaining.
Only two singers from each team will be sent directly to the Live Shows.
The other five artists on that team will then have to compete for just one remaining Live Show position.
That means four artists from each team could be eliminated during the same stage.
Once every coach has chosen three singers, the competition will have a Top 12.
But there will be one final chance for an eliminated contestant.
America will vote one additional artist into the Live Shows, creating the official Top 13. Voting will include new SMS and TikTok options.
Season 30 has already introduced one major new button during the Blind Auditions with First In, which allowed the first coach to turn for a multi-chair artist to automatically claim that singer once during the round.
Now the Steal puts another major decision in the coaches’ hands.
But with Cut Week waiting immediately afterward, even being stolen during the Battles may only delay another difficult elimination.
The Blind Auditions were about getting a chair to turn.
From this point forward, The Voice Season 30 becomes a fight simply to stay in the competition — and some of the singers who looked strongest during the auditions could be gone much sooner than viewers expect.
