Bunnie Xo is speaking out again amid her divorce from Jelly Roll, and this time her blunt joke about feeling free after a “10-year bid” has fans talking.

The podcast host, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, made the comment during a new episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast while discussing the messages she has received from men since news of the divorce became public.

The moment started with a conversation about a direct message from a man who was reportedly in prison and about to be released. As her co-hosts reacted, Bunnie turned the situation into a joke about her own relationship history.

After one co-host joked that the man might need attention after 10 years, Bunnie quipped that she had just gotten out of a “10-year bid” too. The remark immediately left the room reacting because of how openly she connected it to the end of her marriage.

The comment was clearly delivered with humor, but it still landed heavily because Bunnie and Jelly Roll’s split is still fresh. Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, filed for divorce on May 18, 2026, after nearly 10 years of marriage.

Court documents cited irreconcilable differences, with their separation date listed as May 9. The couple originally married in Las Vegas in 2016 and later renewed their vows in 2023.

Since the split became public, Bunnie has been unusually honest about what happened behind the scenes. On Dumb Blonde, she previously said a Mother’s Day argument became the final turning point before Jelly Roll filed for divorce.

She has also said the marriage is ending on the best terms possible, even while acknowledging that the relationship had become difficult. Billboard reported that Bunnie said she and Jelly Roll were still planning to have a baby together despite ending the marriage.

That complicated balance is why the “10-year bid” joke caught so much attention. It sounded like freedom, but it also came from someone who has repeatedly said the relationship still carries history, love, and respect.

People reported that the remark came during a lighthearted podcast exchange, not a formal attack on Jelly Roll. Still, fans immediately connected it to the emotional weight of a decade-long marriage coming to an end.

The Daily Beast also reported that Bunnie has described feeling liberated and happy after the split, while saying she has heard from women who relate to the feeling of being stuck in loveless marriages.

At the same time, she has not presented herself as rushing into a new serious relationship. Reports say she discussed receiving messages from admirers but suggested she is still navigating what it means to be single again.

Jelly Roll has also addressed the divorce publicly, telling fans during a recent show that there was no cheating involved and pointing people toward Bunnie’s podcast for the truth about what happened.

That public support made the split feel different from many celebrity divorces. Even as the two separate legally, both have tried to control the story by speaking directly to fans instead of letting rumors take over.

For Bunnie Xo, the “10-year bid” line may have been a joke, but it revealed something real about this new chapter. After nearly a decade beside Jelly Roll, she is stepping into a different life — still emotional, still complicated, but finally feeling free enough to say it out loud.
