Fresh off their standout performances on American Idol Season 23, rising stars Breanna Nix and John Foster are wasting no time turning national attention into major momentum. The fan-favorite finalists are set to hit a milestone coveted by artists across generations: their debut performances at the legendary Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
To mark the occasion, the two shared a playful behind-the-scenes video from their Idol journey. In the clip, Nix and Foster joked about possibly becoming the show’s next judges. “Should we go sit in the judges’ chair?” the on-screen text teased, sparking laughs—and excitement—from fans flooding the comments.
But behind the laughs lies a pair of rising careers that are quickly becoming stories of substance and staying power.
A Dream Realized
John Foster, the 18-year-old Louisiana native who finished as runner-up, will take the Opry stage on June 7. In a heartfelt Instagram post, he called the moment the fulfillment of his biggest dream.
“This has been my #1 dream ever since I started music,” Foster wrote. “And now, because of your support, my dream will come true! Glory be to God!”
His upcoming appearance follows a special American Idol reunion concert in Nashville, which also featured Season 23 winner Jamal Roberts and fellow finalist Breanna Nix.
Nix, who finished third and quickly built a reputation for her powerful Christian country sound, will step into the Grand Ole Opry circle on June 5—just two days before Foster. For the Georgia native, the moment is both a career milestone and a personal mission.
“This moment has been on my bucket list for years,” she shared. “Getting to finally check it off feels surreal. I want someone to know Jesus through my story.”
Faith, Fans, and a Bright Future
Both Foster and Nix have credited their faith and their fans for helping them reach these career-defining stages so quickly after Idol. Their performances will be part of two nights filled with music, gratitude, and the unmistakable promise of even bigger things to come.
“We’re just getting started,” Foster said in a recent livestream. “We don’t take one bit of this for granted.”
And while neither artist is calling themselves a country legend just yet, their mix of humility, talent, and heart has fans and industry insiders paying close attention. Their behind-the-scenes video may have been all fun and games, but after this week, Breanna Nix and John Foster won’t just be pretending to sit in the judges’ seats—they’ll be standing exactly where country music dreams come true.
